Last week, there was one really, really bad day. La semana pasada, hubo un día muy malo.

It was Monday. Era lunes

Usually, there are about 25 students in my class, but that day, there were only 5 people! Por lo
general, hay alrededor de 25 estudiantes en mi clase, pero ese día, ¡solo había 5 personas!

It wasn't warm. No hacìa calor.

In fact, it was really cold. De hecho, hacía mucho frio.

It was raining a lot. Llovia mucho.

It was dark and gray outside. Afuera esta oscuro y gris.

There wasn't any sunshine. No habia sol.

I think the students weren't at school because they were sick. Creo que los estudiantes no estaban en
la escuela porque estaban enfermos.

They were at home. Estaban en casa.

Maybe they were in bed. Quizas estaban en la cama.

Mr. Jibbit is our teacher. El sr. Jibbit es nuestro maestro.

He is always at school. Siempre está en la escuela.

He is never at home on a Monday. Nunca está en casa los lunes.

Last Monday was no different. El lunes pasado no fue diferente.

He was not in bed. No estaba en la cama.

He was in the classroom, and he was cold! ¡estaba en el salón de clases y tenía frio!

Why was he so cold? ¿Por qué tenía tanto frio?

That's a very good question. Esa es una muy buena pregunta.

He was cold because the heater in the school was broken. Tenía frio porque la calefacción de la
escuela estaba rota.

It was freezing. Hacia muchisimo frio.

The school was like a refrigerator. La escuela era como un refrigerador.

Our room was like a freezer Nuestra habitación era como un congelador.
! And poor Mr. Jibbit was like ice! ¡Y el pobre señor Jibbit era como el hielo!

The small class was cold, cold, cold! ¡la pequeña clase estaba fría, fría, fría!

The next days were much warmer. Los días siguientes fueron mucho más cálidos.

The heater was fixed on Tuesday, so everything was ok. La calefacción fue reparada el martes, así que
todo estuvo bien.

There were 25 students, not only 5. Habia 25 estudiantes, no solo 5.

But where was Mr. Jibbit? Pero ¿dónde estaba el Sr. Jibbit?

He wasn't there. Èl no estaba alli.

He was at home, sick in bed! ¡estaba en casa, enfermo en la cama!
