VOCABULARY: FOOD AND DRINK: PHRASAL VERBS

PHRASAL VERB MEANING


Eat out: comer fuera To eat in a restaurant
Live on: sobrevivir/ subsistir/ alimentarse de To only eat a particular type of food
Cool down: enfriar Become less hot, or to make someone or
something become less hot.
Cut out: recortar/ eliminar/ suprimir To stop eating or drinking something, usually
to improve your health.
Fill up on: llenarse To eat something to make yourself feel full
Eat up: comer To eat all the food that you have been given
Heat up: calentar To make food hot so that it can be eaten
Go off: estropearse If food goes off, it stops being good to eat
because it is too old
