Hebrew Accents in Our Siddur/Acentos Hebreos en Nuestro Sidur

Meteg - used to mark the accent of the syllable. Most Hebrew words are accented on

The Divine Name/El Nombre Divino
The Four-Letter Name dedi, also known as the
Tetragrammaton, is the ineffable Name of the
Blessed Holy One as revealed to Moses Rabenu.
Whenever dedi appears, it must be pronounced
as ip̈Ÿc £̀ (Adonai).
Whenever one says the Divine Name, they
should meditate on two thoughts: 1) That
Hashem is lŸM kd© oFec£̀ (Lord of All) and everything
is under His reign; and, 2) And the concept of
His infinite existence: d¤id¦§ ie§ d¤eŸd dïd̈ (He always
was, He always is, and He always will be).
Every instance of the Divine Name in our Siddur,
is followed by: idpecd`i, which is based on the
teachings of the Arizal that one should weave
the Divine Name with the Name that is
pronounced (Adonai).
In our Kabbalah4All Siddur, the Divine Name
normally does not appear with any nikud (vowel
points). In certain instances, the Divine Name
may appear with nikud which represent
Kabbalistic meditations.
Whenever ip̈Ÿc £̀ (Adonai) appears, it is followed
by lkd oec` which means “Lord of all.”

SEDER KAPAROT
The ancient ritual of Kaparot was designed to
give us a sense of awareness that we must
confront and own up to our past negativity.
Through the month of Elul and the High Holy
Days, we have asked for forgiveness for our
misdeeds. Kaparot is a physical manifestation
that we are truly sorry and ready to begin our
final acts of cleansing through the services of
Yom Kippur.

In ancient times, a chicken was used as an offering

The donation is given to a charity after the Kaparot
Service. There is not a prescribed amount, it is
according to what each person is able to give.
