b. As you can see, the text has some highlighted words. How are they called, remember?
PERSONAL PRONOUNS
“It” se refiere a “book”. En Español NO decimos él es nuevo, sino directamente es nuevo. Algo
semejante ocurre con el pronombre plural “they” Ej.: Those are my books; they are new. Esos
son mis libros; son nuevos.
How would you translate the pronoun “it” in the following sentences?
POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES
Ya vimos que el pronombre “you” se emplea tanto para singular como para plural (usted, ustedes).
“Your” es su posesivo y, por lo tanto, se traduce en singular o plural según corresponda: su,
sus ,vuestro, vuestros (de usted, de ustedes). “Your teacher” puede traducirse: tu profesor/a, su
profesor/a, vuestro profesor/a.
En inglés tenemos cuatro posesivos distintos para las terceras personas (singular o plural): “his” para
he, “her” para she, “its” para it y “their” para they, pero todos tienen la misma traducción en
español: su/sus.
Translate the following phrases into Spanish
