Qué bonito y emocionante que estés aquí, creciendo con nosotros. Como pequeña
ayuda memoria a tu proceso de aprendizaje, te dejo aquí las estructuras verbales
que tan relacionadas están entre sí. Comprenderlas, incorporarlas y usarlas
marcarán una gran diferencia, en el mejor sentido de la expresión, en tu nivel de
inglés. ¡Aprende y crece! Recordemos que estas son las estructuras base, pero
hay muchas más que nacen a partir de aquí. Primero sepamos lo básico —que es
básico porque si no no entiendes lo avanzado, no porque sea menos importante—
y luego avanzamos a temas más complejos. ¡Vamos!

Pasado

Simple: Afirmaciones Simple: Negaciones

Sujeto + Verbo en pasado Sujeto + didn’t (contracción de

(regular o irregular) did not) + Verbo en infinitivo

I learned I didn’t lie

She learned She didn’t lie
We learned We didn’t lie

Para todos los sujetos, el verbo Para todos los sujetos usamos
será conjugado en pasado. didn’t, junto con el verbo en
Puede ser regular o irregular. infinitivo, ojo con esto último!

Simple: Preguntas positivas y negativas

Did/Didn’t + Sujeto + Verbo en infinitivo

Did you dance?

Didn’t they dance?
Didn’t she dance?
Did we dance?

Para las preguntas negativas, también puedes decir “did they not dance?”
Atención, separas la contracción didn’t, y agregas el sujeto en el medio. Esto es
inusual a la hora de hablar.

Normalmente, al hablar usamos
-was.
contracciones. Por ejemplo:
wasn’t en lugar de is not y
Para el resto, utilizamos were.
weren’t en lugar de were not.
Cuidadin! El verbo luego de la conjugación
del to be siempre llevará el -ing.

Para los sujetos he, she, it, al
verbo se le agrega una -s o -es Para los sujetos he, she, it, utilizamos

Para los sujetos he, she, it, utilizamos does y doesn’t, nuevamente. Los verbos
siempre van en infinitivo para todas las personas.

Para el sujeto I, utilizamos -am.
Para he, she, it, utilizamos is.
Normalmente, al hablar usamos

Sujeto + Will + Verbo en Sujeto + won’t (contracción de

infinitivo will not) + Verbo en infinitivo

We will learn We won’t lie

Para todos los sujetos, Para todos los sujetos usamos

utilizamos “will”. Solemos won’t (will not), junto con el
abreviar a I’ll, She’ll, We’ll, etc. verbo en infinitivo, ojo con esto
último!

Mucho cuidado con la estructura de estas preguntas! Siempre serán will o won’t +
sujeto + be + verbo con -ing. Muy importante!
