WOMAN: Did you read this article about that Australian news presenter, Karl Stefanovic?
MAN: Sorry? What Australian news presenter?
WOMAN: Karl Stefanovic — he's quite well known.
MAN: No, I've never heard of him. Why? What's he done?
WOMAN: Well, he's been a news presenter on Australian TV for over 20 years apparently, and for
years he's noticed that women news presenters get lots of negative criticism from viewers.
MAN: Do they? Why?
WOMAN: Well, that's what's interesting. It's not professional criticism. It's always about their hair
and their clothes and their make-up, things like that.
MAN: No!
WOMAN: Yeah. But — and now here's the really strange thing — no one's ever commented on his
appearance!
MAN: Why not? Oh, because he's a man, you mean!
WOMAN: Exactly!
MAN: Well, that seems very unfair, doesn't it? It doesn't seem right at all.
WOMAN: No, but here's the thing, he decided to do something about it.
MAN: Really? What did he do?
WOMAN: He more the same blue suit on screen every day for a whole year.
MAN: The same suit every day for a year? Wow. So what happened?
WOMAN: Absolutely nothing. Nobody noticed.
MAN: Nobody noticed? So he made his point!
WOMAN: Yes, he did. He said it was very clear that viewers judged him on how well he (lid his job:
his interviews, his sense of humour and so on.
MAN: But viewers don't seem to judge women on those kinds of professional things at all, do they?
Just on their appearance.
WOMAN: Exactly!

MUJER: ¿Leíste este artículo sobre ese presentador de noticias australiano, Karl Stefanovic?
HOMBRE: ¿Perdón? ¿Qué presentador de noticias australiano?
MUJER: Karl Stefanovic, es bastante conocido.
HOMBRE: No, nunca he oído hablar de él. ¿Por qué? ¿Qué ha hecho?
MUJER: Bueno, aparentemente ha sido presentador de noticias en la televisión australiana durante
