PRESENTACIÓN

Para fortalecer la economía de Bolivia a través de un sistema turísti-

co que pueda brindar a los visitantes una experiencia única y origi-
nal durante su llegada a las zonas más bellas del territorio nacional,
el Viceministerio de Turismo, a través del Programa Nacional de
Turismo Comunitario invirtió recursos para reforzar a los emprendi-
mientos de las comunidades y también en el apoyo a los municipios
con importante infraestructura y equipamiento.

Se trata de los Componentes 1 y 2 del Programa Nacional de Turismo

Comunitario: “Inversiones y Puesta en Valor” y “Apoyo directo a las
comunidades”. Ambos componentes los presentamos en dos catá-
logos que presentan las obras y las inversiones en las zonas priori-
zadas; los atractivos turísticos y sus principales características. Que-
remos subrayar que existe una Bolivia pujante en el área dispersa, y
que existe un creciente interés por conocer las culturas escondidas
de nuestra amada patria.

Buscamos articular estas iniciativas con los operadores privados,

para que se garantice un trabajo integral en el turismo en nuestro
suelo boliviano. Queremos trabajar unidos, para caminar juntos ha-
cia un futuro en el que la industria turística se consolide como una
fuente de ingresos segura para las comunidades.

En el marco de la transparencia, los catálogos que presentamos a

continuación demuestran que la gestión del Programa Nacional de
Turismo Comunitario ha cumplido con sus objetivos y que actual-
mente ya tienen resultados.

Hoy por hoy Bolivia es un destino preferido por los visitantes ex-
tranjeros, gracias al trabajo de las comunidades, gracias a todos los
bolivianos.

 INTRODUCTION

With the main objective of strengthen the economy of Bolivia through

a tourism system that can provide visitors a unique and original expe-
rience during their arrival at the most beautiful areas of the country, the
Vice Ministry of Tourism, through the National Program of Community
Tourism, invests resources to reinforce the endeavors of communities
and also in supporting municipalities with important infrastructure and
equipment.

We are talking about the Components 1 and 2 of the National Program

of Community Tourism: “Investments and values” and “Direct support
to communities.” We introduce both components in two brochures
showing the works and investments in priorized areas; attractions and
its main features. We stress that there is a thriving Bolivia in the rural
area, and there is a growing interest in learning about the hidden cultu-
res of our beloved homeland.

We seek to articulate these initiatives with private operators, so that a

comprehensive work in tourism in our Bolivian soil is guaranteed. We
want to work together, to walk together towards a future in which the
tourism industry will consolidate as a reliable source of income for com-
munities.

In the framework of transparency, the brochures that we present show

that the management of the National Program of Community Tourism
has accomplished its objectives and currently already have results.

Today Bolivia is a favorite spot for foreign visitors, thanks to the work of
communities, thanks to all Bolivian people.

Uyuni es un municipio cuya historia relata la gran-
deza de la era del ferrocarril en Bolivia, cuando su
Estación Central se constituía en un eje de conexión
con los países del Sur tras la Guerra del Pacífico que
dejó a Bolivia sin una salida soberana al mar. Es la
puerta de entrada al Salar que lleva su nombre, que
para los indígenas tiene el denominativo de Thunu-
pa, un inmenso mar blanco que se constituye en un
centro de recursos inagotables para Bolivia.
Uyuni también es el portal de ingreso a la Reserva
Nacional de Fauna Andina Eduardo Abaroa, donde se
encuentran ubicadas las lagunas de colores: Laguna
Verde y Laguna Colorada, dos sitios cuyos paisajes
recuerdan a los cuadros del pintor catalán Salvador
Dalí.

UYUNI / REA
Uyuni is a place whose history tells the greatness of
the railway age in Bolivia, when the Central Station
was connection shaft with the South, after the Pacific
War that left Bolivia without a sovereign outlet to the
sea. Is the gateway to the Salar that bears his name,
the one that for indigenous people has the name of
Thunupa, an immense white sea salt that it is conside-
red an inexhaustible resource center for Bolivia.
Surrounding the Salar de Uyuni, the communities
implemented eco-lodges with the aim of offering
tourists a unique experience in visiting the area. Uyuni
is also the portal of entry into the National Reserve
Eduardo Abaroa for Andean Fauna, where are located
the colored lagoons: Laguna Verde and Laguna Colo-
rada, two places whose landscapes are reminiscent of
the paintings of the Catalan painter Salvador Dali.

DESCRIPCIÓN
Colcha K es la capital de la provincia de Nor Lípez
ubicada al sudoeste del departamento de Potosí,
comprende un sistema de valles cerrados o cuencas,
rodeado por montañas moderadamente escarpadas,
lagunas o “bolsones” de agua encerrados, así como
pocos arroyos.
San Cristóbal es una de las comunidades de ese mu-
nicipio, históricamente se hizo conocer por ser neta-
mente minero. En la última década el pueblo entero
fue mudado de lugar para lograr una explotación
total de sus riquezas minerales
Los principales atractivos turísticos son: Templo
de San Cristóbal, Mina San Cristóbal, Centro Ritual
Achupalla, Centro de Interpretación de Historia Mi-
nera, Miradores.

Para beneficio de los visitantes que hacen el recorri-
do por el sudoeste potosino se realizó la ampliación
del Centro de Interpretación con la construcción de
baños sanitarios y un restaurant, se hizo la refacción
de la Casita de Sal que se ubica al ingreso del pueblo
mismo que funciona como punto de información, y
la refacción del Mirador de Irucancha.

INVERSIÓN TOTAL: BS. 322.420,00
Se apoyó al emprendimiento con la dotación de
utensilios para el restaurante, para el comedor, en el
mirador se dotará de equipo para acondicionar el lu-
gar así como para su uso, adicionalmente se dispon-
drá de cuadros, cámaras y paneles de información.

DESCRIPTION
Colcha K is the capital of the province of Nor Lipez lo-
cated southwest of the department of Potosi, compri-
ses a system of closed valleys or basins surrounded by
mountains moderately steep, lagoons or “pockets” of
enclosed water and few streams.
San Cristobal is one of the communities of the muni-
cipality, historically became known for being merely
a mining town. In the last decade the entire town was
moved to another place to achieve full exploitation of
its mineral wealth
The main tourist attractions are: Templo de San Cris-
tobal, San Cristobal Mine, Achupalla Ritual Center,
History Interpretation Centre, Mining, Lookouts.

For the benefit of visitors who make the tour of Sou-
thwestern Potosi, the expansión of the Interpretation
Center was carried out with the construction of sani-
tary bathrooms and a restaurant, the renovation of la
Casita de Sal which is located at the entrance of town,
which works as a point of information; and the reno-
vation of the Mirador de Irucancha.

DESCRIPCIÓN
El municipio de Tahua; se sitúa a 3,707 msnm. La
comunidad presenta un clima árido y frío. El hotel
se emplaza en la comunidad de Tahua, en la orilla
Norte del Salar de Uyuni, fue construido con bloques
de sal extraídos del Salar de Uyuni considerado en sí
mismo un atractivo por sus características de cons-
trucción, alrededor del hotel sobresale su riqueza
naturales y culturales como el Volcán Thunupa, la
comunidad Tahua, el mirador de La Paukara de Chi-
llima, Museo de Chantani, Takana de Chillguilla.

El turista podrá disfrutar de su estadía en el salar
de Uyuni en este hotel gracias a la ampliación de
la infraestructura. Se realizó la refacción total de la
cubierta y se construyeron zapatas para el refuerzo
estructural en uno de los patios centrales, y módulos
adicionales para el área de servicio.

Una vez que el turismo comenzó a crecer en la zona
del Salar de Uyuni, se vio la necesidad de apoyar
los emprendimientos turísticos con infraestructura
y bienes. En el hotel de sal se realizó la entrega de
equipamiento para la atención gastronómica y la
alimentación de los turistas.

Tahua community It is located at 3,707 meters above
sea level. The community has a dry and cold climate.
The salt hotel is housed there, on the north shore of

made and footings for structural reinforcement in one

Tourism started to grow in the Salt Flats zone and it
was seen the necesity to support all the community
entreprenurships with the aim of give the trousit a
better attention, with adecuate infraestructure and
goods. The PNTC gave the Salt Hotel in Tahua equip-
ment for the cuisine and the dining room.

San Pedro de Quemes, es un pequeño municipio
de la región de los Lipez, en Potosí. Tiene acceso a
importantes atractivos turísticos del destino Salar de
Uyuni- Lagunas de Colores, de entre todos el más re-
presentativo dentro del circuito turístico del Pueblo
Quemado, que es una ciudadela de Piedra, restos de
lo que fue el primer pueblo de San Pedro, y que fue
saqueado por los chilenos en la Guerra del Pacífico.
San Pedro de Quemes tiene una vista del cielo noc-
turno que hasta se pueden contar las estrellas, su
ambiente es de aire puro, y totalmente alejado del
bullicio urbana.
El hotel tiene proyectado la construcción de un pla-
netario para este fin.
DESCRIPTION
San Pedro de Quemes, is a small town in the region
of Lipez, Potosi. It has access to important tourist at-
tractions of the destination Salar de Uyuni- Lagunas
de Colores, of all the most representative within the
tourist circuit is Pueblo Quemado, which is a stone
citadel, remains of what was the first town of San
Pedro, and who it was sacked by the Chileans in the
Pacific War.
San Pedro de Quemes has a view of the night sky until
you can count the stars, their environment is clean air,
and completely away from the urban bustle.
The Stone Hotel has a plan in which they will buid a
planetarium to observe the stars.

A través del apoyo del Programa Nacional de Turis-
mo Comunitario permitió ampliar la capacidad del
servicio de Hospedaje del Hotel Tayka de Piedra de
San Pedro de Quemes; u se realizó la ampliación,
remodelación, complementación y construcción de
nuevos ambientes de la infraestructura para los ser-
vicios de hospedaje y alimentación.

El Hotel Tayka de Piedra de San Pedro de Quemes so-
licitó apoyo para la dotación de utensilios e infraes-
tructura para brindar un mejor servicio al turista,
para lo que se apoyó al ETC a través del cofinancia-
miento para la dotación de muebles, enseres y equi-
pos destinados al área de restaurante y hospedaje.

Through the support of the National Community Tou-
rism Program allowed expand the capacity of hosting
service the Hotel Tayka Stone San Pedro de Quemes;
contemplates expansion, remodeling, complementa-
tion and construction of new infrastructure environ-
ments for accommodation and food services.

Hotel Tayka de Piedra San Pedro de Quemes requested
support for the provision of tools and infrastructure to
provide better service to tourists, for which the PNTC

Colcha K, es la capital de la provincia de Nor Lípez
ubicado al sudoeste del departamento de Potosí,
descubrir el patrimonio natural y los paisajes que
ofrecen las comunidades del municipio de Colcha K,
soberbias montañas; mientras sus islas ofrecen asilo
a cactus y aves de la zona.
PROYECTO
Serealizó la dotación de 9 sistemas termo tanques
de energía solar con una capacidad de 300 Lts
por cada locación (2x150 Lts), y se entregaron 10
Freezers, Equipo de Menaje para cocina, 2 Refrige-
radores, 1 televisor pantalla plana de 40” y 1 Solar
para energía eléctrica a los 9 albergues de las comu-
nidades de Villa Candelaria, Aguaquiza, San Juan,
Colcha K y Puerto Chuvica quienes forman parte de
la Asociación de emprendedores Samay Huasis Nor
Lipez- Asesan, mismos que ofrecen servicios de hos-
pedaje a los turistas que visitan esta zona.

El Parque Nacional y Área Natural de Manejo Inte-
grado Madidi es un destino de incomparable belleza
natural donde 3,235 especies conviven en perfecta
armonía con el ser humano y la Madre Naturaleza.
Es un parque cuya belleza sobrecogedora permite
que los visitantes vuelvan en repetidas oportuni-
dades como embrujados por el encanto del trópico
amazónico boliviano.
Para fortalecer el atractivo de esta zona turística
boliviana y en coordinación con los emprendimien-
tos comunitarios de las etnias Tacana y Makawa, en
Asociación con la Empresa Comunitaria Mashaquipe,
se está procediendo a la implementación de alber-
gues eco turísticos en Madidi, Ixiamas y en Pampas
del Yacuma. De esa manera se está apoyando las
comunidades para que aprovechen las reservas na-
turales de nuestro país.
Por otra parte, la Reserva Municipal de Pampas del
Yacuma es otro de los destinos turísticos más visita-
dos de Bolivia, por su fauna y su flora únicas en el

National Park and Natural Area of Integrated Mana-
gement “Madidi” is a destination of incomparable
natural beauty where 3,235 species coexist in per-

That way the goverment is supporting communities
to seize the natural reserves of our country.
Moreover, the Municipal Reserve Pampas del Yacu-
ma is one of the most visited tourist destinations in
Bolivia, for its unique fauna and flora in the world.

unique in the world for its direct relationship with

Ixiamas es un municipio ubicado al norte de La Paz.
En su jurisdicción se encuentra el Territorio Comuni-
tario de Origen (TCO) de la comunidad Makawa, en
la cual se emplaza este albergue eco turístico en aso-
ciación con la em- presa comunitaria Mashaquipe.
En el bosque se cuenta con plantas que son utili-
zadas por los comunarios para fabricar artesanía y
para la medicina tradicional. El albergue denomi-
nado Sushe Janana (Pato pequeño) es un punto de
descanso en el recorrido que concluye en un sendero
Inca y en la laguna Santa Rosita.
PROYECTO
El Programa Nacional de Turismo Comunitario apo-
yaóel emprendimiento de la comunidad Makawa
con la construcción de cinco cabañas en el albergue,
cada una de ellas con baño privado.
Las cabañas cuentan en su infraestructura con mate-
rial propio del lugar. Todo ello construido y estructu-
rado por trabajadores de la comunidad misma.

DESCRIPTION
Ixiamas is a municipality located north of La Paz. In
its jurisdiction it´s included the Community Territory
(TCO) of the Makawa community, where this eco tou-
rist hostel is housed in partnership with the Masha-
quipe enterprise.
In the forest there are plants that are used by com-
munity members to make handicrafts and traditional
medicine. The hostel called Sushe Janana (Little Duck)
is a break point in the journey that ends in an Inca trail
and in Santa Rosita lagoon.
PROJECT
The National Community Tourism Program supports
the Makawa venture with the construction of five ca-
bins at the lodge, each with a private bathroom.
The cabins have in their own material infra- structure
with the place. All built and structured by workers of
the community itself.

El albergue Las Tortugas está ubicado a 20 minutos
en bote desde Puerto Tucumán en el municipio de
Santa Rosa del Departamento de Beni navegando
por el Río Yacuma. Su emplazamiento se halla en un
lugar privilegiado para la observación de la fauna y
flora de la zona del Yacuma, además de tener acce-
sos por bote a la Reserva Municipal de La Pampa.
PROYECTO
La Empresa Comunitaria Mashaquipe solicitó el
apoyo del Programa Nacional de Turismo Comunita-
rio para la implementación de cinco cabañas en el
albergue Las Tortugas, cada una de ellas con baño
privado.
También se implementó un salón de eventos el cusl
funciona en dos plantas: en una de ellas se coloca-
ron hamacas con una vista hacia la inmensidad de
la selva de Santa Rosa del Yacuma, y la otra tiene las
funciones de un salón de eventos sociales.

Las aguas del Lago Titikaka guardan en sus profun-
didades secretos que aún no terminan de descubrir-
se en relación a las culturas que habitaron en sus
orillas, sobre sus peculiares fauna submarina y flora
lacustre .
Las comunidades que actualmente habitan en esa
zona son descendientes directos de esos pueblos
misteriosos, y sus hábitos aún mantienen aquella
grandeza que en algún momento fue la dominante
en tiempos olvidados por la memoria.
Es por ello que el Lago Titikaka es uno de los atrac-
tivos turísticos más importantes de Bolivia, y para
fortalecer este destino es que el Viceministerio de
Turismo, a través del Programa Nacional de Turismo
Comunitario, invirtió recursos para que las comu-
nidades puedan brindar un mejor servicio, además
de brindar un circuito de miradores para admirar el
horizonte azul del Lago y la imponencia del altiplano
boliviano.

The waters of Lake Titicaca keep in their depths secrets

unique underwater fauna and its peculiar flora.
The communities currently living in that area are di-
rect descendants of those mysterious people, and their
habits still maintain that greatness that at some point
was the dominant in times now forgotten.
That is why Lake Titicaca is one of the most import-
ant tourist attractions in Bolivia, and to strengthen

Luribay se caracteriza por dos aspectos importantes:
Su clima cálido, propicio para el cultivo de uva y la
producción de vino y singani, y por otro, por ser la
cuna del ex Presidente José Manuel Pando.
Este municipio ubicado a 190 kilómetros de la ciu-
dad de La Paz, se constituye en un importante des-
tino para los turistas locales y extranjeros, aquellos
que buscan una experiencia diferente, con activida-
des que incluyan la cata de vino, y la visita a centros
históricos.
PROYECTO
El Programa Nacional de Turismo Comunitario
brindó el apoyo necesario a la Asociación La Caba-
ña Unión Turismo Rural a través de la dotación de
equipamiento para el albergue que implementaron
en las zonas de cultivo de viñedos de ese municipio.
El equipamiento consiste en muebles, frazadas y en-
seres para el uso de los visitantes del albergue que
tiene capacidad de recibir a 36 personas.

Luribay is characterized by two important respects:

the birthplace of former President Jose Manuel Pando.
This town located 190 kilometers from the city of La
Paz, constitutes an important destination for local
and foreign tourists, those looking for a different ex-
perience, with activities that include wine tasting and
visiting historic sites.

The National Community Tourism Program provided
the necessary support to the Association La Caba-
ña Union for Rural Tourism through the provision of
equipment for the shelter that was implemented in
vineyards growing areas. The equipment consists of
furniture, blankets for the use of visitors to the shelter

La extensión del municipio de Copacabana abarca
hasta la frontera con Perú, donde comunidades
de origen ancestral se asientan desde tiempos in-
memoriales. Entre ellas se cuenta a la comunidad
Sahuiña, reconocida por la manufactura de balsas
de Totora y por su interés en preservar a la Rana del
Lago.
PROYECTO
Con el objetivo de apoyar la iniciativa de conserva-
ción de la Rana del Lago, y para hacer conocer más
sobre la artesanía en Totora, el Programa Nacional
de Turismo Comunitario, PNTC, brindó apoyo a la Co-
munidad Sahuiña con la ampliación de los servicios
de hospedaje con la construcción de dos habitacio-
nes y un comedor, respetando la tradición de esta
cultura.
También se ha construido un centro de interpreta-
ción, baños, servicios básicos, duchas y un patio que
permitirá recibir visitantes a esa comunidad.

In order to support the conservation initiative Frog
Lake, and to learn more about the craft in Totora, Na-

the Sahuiña Community enlargement hosting servi-
ces with the construction of two rooms and a dining
room, respecting the tradition of this culture.
It has also built an interpretive center, restrooms, uti-

La Comunidad Ojelaya se encuentra en la zona sur
del Lago Titikaka y se accede por una entrada de tie-
rra, a pocos kilómetros de la carretera que une Chúa
Cocani con Copacabana.
La comunidad está asentada en una playa en cuyas
olas traen consigo el eco de leyendas antiguas sobre
una ciudad que está sumergida bajo las aguas del
Lago Sagrado. Es un atractivo al que se le denomina
Kamaraña (Descansar).
Es una parada para quienes buscan sumergirse
en las leyendas del Lago Titikaka contadas por los
mayores de esta comunidad que guarda historias y
leyendas en su acervo propio.

El Programa Nacional de Turismo Comunitario apoyó
a la comunidad de Ojelaya con la construcción de dos

gicos para el área del camping .
Se implementó camerinos y duchas, casilleros y la
ampliación de un muelle flotante.

munitario se realizaron los trámites correspondien-
tes para que la comunidad de Ojelaya pueda recibir

The Ojelaya Community is located in the southern part
of Lake Titicaca and is accessed by a dirt driveway, a
few kilometers of the road between Chua Cocani with

The community sits on a beach whose waves bring the
echo of ancient legends about a city that is submerged
beneath the waters of the Sacred Lake. It is attractive
that it is called Kamaraña (Rest).
It is a stop for those who want to dive into Lake Titica-
ca legends, told by the elders of this community that
keeps stories and legends in their own heritage.

El municipio de Escoma, tiene un patrimonio ar-
queológico y cultural ligado a manifestaciones
escultóricas y asentamientos de gran tamaño del
Período Formativo en la Cuenca del Lago TitiKaKa.
Challapata y Titimani son las dos localidades arqueo-
lógicas más importantes del municipio y cuyo valor
patrimonial es de gran importancia para entender
los procesos culturales que antecedieron a la presen-
cia de Tiwanaku en la región.

A travérs del proyecto se construyó un Parque Re-
creativo Turístico “Astucopecha” que pone a disposi-

PARQUE NACIONAL SAJAMA
Si existe un lugar en el que la historia del planeta
Tierra es enseñada por la misma naturaleza es el
Parque Nacional Sajama, ubicado en el noroeste
del departamento de Oruro, a 255 kilómetros de la
ciudad de La Paz.
En este parque se puede encontrar aguas termales,
bofedales con su humedad eterna, árboles que cre-
cen de decenio en decenio (quñua), musgos que son
más combustibles que el mismo petróleo (yareta),
kollpares, geiseres, volcanes, nieves eternas, y la
sabiduría de un pueblo que vive desde centurias en
ese lugar. Entre toda esa magnificencia se encuen-
tra el nevado Sajama, el padre de toda esa zona, el
“doctor”, como le llaman los médicos tradicionales,
la entidad tutelar del parque, patrono de Bolivia.
Sus acompañantes de milenios, el Pomereque y el
Parinacota son sus dos guardianes.
Es la comunidad Choquemarca Suni Uta la que ha
iniciado una emprendimiento comunitario en esa
zona con un albergue al que se le ha llamado Toma-
rapi, en honor al cerro pequeño en el que se encuen-
tra. También en una zona un poco más aejada, la co-
munidad Tahipiuta ha implementado un abergue, el
Kory Trincha. Cada uno de ellos se ha constituido en
una puerta para el turista, con servicios que llevan
intrínsecamente los principios de la complementa-
riedad andina.
Este es un resumen de la intervención del Programa
Nacional de Turismo Comunitario en este parque.

PARQUE NACIONAL SAJAMA
If there is a place where the history of planet Earth is
taught by the very nature in itself this is the Sajama Na-
tional Park, located in the northwest of the department
of Oruro, 255km from the city of La Paz.
In this park you can find hot springs, wetlands with their
eternal moisture, trees growing from decade to decade
(quñua), mosses that are more fuel than the oil in itself
(yareta), kollpares, geysers, volcanoes, eternal snows,
and wisdom of a people who lived for centuries in this
place. Among all this magnificence is the snowy Saja-
ma, the father of the whole area, the “doctor”, as they
call traditional doctors, the supervisory body of the
park, patron saint of Bolivia.
His millenial companions: Pomereque and Parinacota
are his two personal guards.
Is the Choquemarca Suni Uta community that has initia-
ted a community undertaking in that area with a shelter
that has been called Tomarapi, after the small hill on
which it is located. Also in a area a little more far, the
Tahipiuta community has implemented an eco lodge,
the Kory Trincha. Each of them has become a gateway
for tourists, with services that inherently carry the prin-
ciples of the Andean complementarity.

DESCRIPCIÓN
El Eco Albergue Turístico Tomarapi se encuentra ubi-
cado dentro del Parque Nacional Sajama. Su diseño,
basado en cabañas al estilo de los comunarios le
permiten al visitante vivir una experiencia original,
rodeado de la belleza del Sajama, montaña nevada
a la que los comunarios rinden culto como entidad
tutelar. El albergue brinda hospedaje, alimentación
y un centro para la venta de artesanías.
El Parque Nacional Sajama cuenta como su principal
atractivo la montaña más alta de Bolivia, cubierta
de nieve y de una flora que es aprovechada por las
comunidades para la medicina tradicional.
PROYECTO
El Proyecto Nacional de Turismo Comunitario apo-
yó este emprendimiento de la comunidad Suni Uta
Choquemarka a través de la dotación de muebles,
enseres y equipos para fortalecer la atención al tu-
rista en este albergue comunitario.

DESCRIPTION
Tomarapi Eco Tourist Hostel is located within the
Sajama National Park. Its design, based on the co-
munnards style allow visitors to live an original ex-
perience, surrounded by the beauty of Sajama, snowy
mountain to which community members worship as a
deity. The hostel provides accommodation, food and a
center for the sale of handicrafts.
The Sajama National Park has as its main attraction
is the highest mountain in Bolivia, snow cover and a
flora that is used by communities for traditional me-
dicine.
PROJECT
The National Community Tourism Project suppor-
ted this venture community Suni Uta Choquemarka
through the provision of furniture, fixtures and equi-
pment to strengthen tourist attention in this commu-
nity shelter.

La Comunidad Choquemarca Taipihuta se encuentra
ubicada en el área de contención del Parque Nacio-
nal Sajama. El albergue Ecoturístico Kory Trincha
está rodeado de enormes piedras y formaciones
rocosas que tendrían su origen en tiempos inme-
moriales.
Su ubicación le permite tener una visión única de la
montaña Sajama, y la estadía permite al turista una
nueva experiencia dentro el circuito de esta reserva
natural.
PROYECTO
El Albergue Kory Trincha cuenta con habitaciones
amobladas, servicio de comedor y un área de disper-
sión para realizar caminatas hacia los valles de los
pedregones gigantes. El Programa Nacional de Turis-
mo comunitario dotó de muebles, enseres y equipos
para mejorar la calidad de la atención a los turistas,
para que los comunarios logren brindar un servicio
eficiente a los visitantes.

Los Yungas de Bolivia es una Eco región montañosa
poblada de espesos bosques y con una flora y fau-
na endémica conviviendo en armonía con la Madre
Tierra. Se trata de una región ubicada en el depar-
tamento de La Paz, cuyos ríos, caminos, bosques y
montañas se han convertido en un destino preferido
del Turismo Aventura.
En La Paz la zona está dividida en dos provincias:
Nor Yungas y Sud Yungas, la primera tiene como
principales centros urbanos a Coroico, Coripata y Yo-
losa, mientras que el municipio más hermoso de la
segunda es Chulumani.
Se llevan a cabo actividades turísticas muy impor-
tantes en estas zonas tropicales del Departamento
de La Paz, por un lado está el recorrido por la llamada
Ruta de la Muerte, un camino peligroso cuyo borde
se halla rodeado por un barranco de kilómetros de
altura. Por otro lado los deportes como el parapente,
el ciclismo de largo aliento, el andinismo y el sende-
rismo son practicados por turistas que llegan desde
países alejados, por el interés de conocer una zona
que aún mantiene su biodiversidad y su ecología.
En esta zona habitan el grupo étnico Tocaña, de la
comunidad Afroboliviana descendientes directos de
los primeros hombres de color traídos por los espa-
ñoles desde el África para el trabajo en las minas de
la colonia.
El Programa Nacional de Turismo Comunitario in-
vierte recursos en la habilitación de eco albergues,
señalización, centros de interpretación y la seguri-
dad en la zona de la Ruta de la Muerte para fortale-
cer aún más la oferta turística boliviana.

The zone of Yungas in Bolivia is a Eco Region of thick
forests and exhuberant flora, with a fauna living in
harmony with Mother Earth. It is a place located in
the Department of La Paz, where rivers, roads, fo-
rests and mountains have become a favorite desti-
nation for Adventure Tourism.
In La Paz area it is divided into two provinces: Nor
Yungas and Sud Yungas, in the first province are
located villages such as Coroico, Coripata and Yolosa,
while the most beautiful village of the second one
is Chulumani.
Very important tourist activities are carried out in
these tropical areas of the Department of La Paz, on
firts place is the tour around the Death Road, a dan-
gerous path which edge is surrounded by kilometers
of ravine. On the other hand sports like paragliding,
cycling long-winded, mountain climbing and hiking
are practiced by tourists coming from distant coun-
tries, in the interest of knowing an area which is still
maintaining its biodiversity and ecology.
In Yungas lives the ethnic group Tocaña of the Afro-
bolivian community, who are direct descendants of
the first men of color brought by the Spaniards from
Africa to work in the colonial mines.
The National Community Tourism Program invests
resources in enabling eco shelters, signage, inter-
pretive centers and security in the area of the Death
Road to further strengthen the Bolivian tourism.

DESCRIPCIÓN
Chijchipa, se encuentra en el municipio de Coroico,
es una comunidad de origen afroboliviano tienen
un amplio bagage cultural de música y danza, el
pueblo afroboliviano tiene una fuerte raíz cultural
basada en sus ancestros llegados del África, y su in-
terrrelación natural con el pueblo aymara.
La comunidad afroboliviana hace de la danza de
la saya una verdadera expresión cultural musical,
plasman las inquietudes sociales, alegrías, penas y
asuntos de la vida cotidiana al ritmo de tambores.
Sin duda la música, acompaña ocasiones y fechas
conmemorables para ellos; todo lo que les pasa, lo
sienten, cantan y bailan.
La ex casa de Hacienda de Chijchipa, perteneciente
al ex presidente Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada fue ha-
bilitada como hospedería para turistas.

The community makes afrobolivian dance “Saya” a
true musical cultural expression, reflected social con-

that happens, they feel, sing and dance.
The ex Hacienda House belonging to former President

Coripata es conocida desde la época colonial por sus
cultivos de coca en grandes haciendas que abaste-
cían los centros mineros, tiene una población de ori-
gen aymara y afro boliviana cuya principal actividad
económica es la agricultura, el cultivo del café y la
coca.
Las características de la biodiversidad en flora y fau-
na con la que cuenta la región, son propicias para
promover el ecoturismo, además de la tradición cul-
tural afro boliviana reflejada en el baile de la saya.

Con el objetivo de brindar una mejor experiencia al
visitante a la comunidad se construyó un albergue,
un área administrativa, un restaurante y una sala
de interpretación que brinde orientaciación sobre el
cultivo, usos y costumbres de la hoja de coca.

El pueblo de Yolosa es considerado como la puerta de
ingreso a Coroico. En sus alrededores se encuentra la
Laguna Cedro Mayo, balneario natural que ofrece un
lugar de descanso para turistas y visitantes. Además
de permitirles disfrutar de atractivos como el Centro
de Recuperación de Vida Silvestre Senda Verde.
Yolosa es un centro importante para conocer más
sobre los cultivos de la Hoja de Coca.
PROYECTO
Los turistas ahora tienen un nuevo paradero en la
ruta de los Yungas. El proyecto tiene la finalidad de
mejorar las condiciones del balneario natural que se
formó en torno a la Laguna Cedro Mayo, a través de
la delimitación del mismo con un muro perimetral y
el mejoramiento de los servicios del balneario.

CAMINO DE LA MUERTE

DESCRIPCIÓN
Coroico es uno de los municipios con mayor tradición
turística del país, uno de sus principales atractivos es
la Ruta de la Muerte que desciende desde la Cumbre
de La Paz y en un recorrido de aproximadamente 3 a
4 horas desciende hasta los Yungas de La Paz. Desde
este punto se va en descenso y se puede apreciar el
cambio del panorama y del paisaje. El aire se hace
más tibio y la vegetación se transforma; y uno se en-
cuentra con la naturaleza, el paisaje deslumbrante y
un clima cálido.
PROYECTO
La iniciativa de la Comunidad Carmen de Chicaluyo,
que se ubica en un punto estratégico de la denomi-
nada Ruta de la Muerte, decidio mejorar los servicios
para la atención de turistas que practican bicking.
A traves del cofinanciamiento se apoyó la construc-
ción de una maroma para diversificar las actividades
de turismo de aventura y sera complementado con
una cafeteria, que brinde los servicios minimos de
alimentacion, servicios sanitarios y facilidades.

DESCRIPTION
Coroico is one of the municipalities with the greatest
tourist tradition of the country, one of its main attrac-
tions is the Death Road descending from the summit
of La Paz and in an approximately 3 to 4 hours down
to the Yungas of La Paz. From this point it goes down-
hill and you can see the changing landscape and sce-
nery. The air is warmer and the vegetation becomes;
and one is with nature, the stunning scenery and a
warm climate.
PROJECT
The initiative of the Community of Carmen DE Chicalu-
yo, located in a strategic point of Death Road, decided
to improve services for the attention of tourists who
practice bicking.
Through the co-funding will support the construction
of a rope to diversify the adventure tourism activities
and will be complemented by a cafeteria, which pro-
vide minimum services of food, health services and
facilities.
