Error común
Mucha gente tiende a decir must had en vez de must have had al expresar must en pasado. La
combinación de verbo modal + had no existe. ¡No la uses!
Consejo clave
sabes, ¡a trabajar!
al + Have
Must have: Usamos esta combinación al referirnos sobre algo que puede haber
ocurrido como una conclusión lógica.
Can't have: Al igual que must have, esta combinación nos sirve para referirnos a
May have, Might Have: Usamos may have y might have para mostrar que algo
pudo haber sucedido, pero no estamos seguros. She may have arrived hours
ago.
Could have: Lo usamos para referirnos a algo que pudo haber sucedido en el
pasado, pero no pasó. Puede expresar posibilidad o habilidad.
Should have, Ought to have: Podemos usar cualquiera de estas combinaciones
remordimiento.

Conditional Sentences
Form:
If + Simple Present, + Simple Present
4/13
Use:
The zero conditional is used to talk about things which are always true,
scientific facts, general truths:
Examples:
Form:
If + Simple Present, + Simple Future
Use
Conditional Sentences Type 1 refers to the future. A certain action in the
future will only happen if a certain condition is fulfilled by that time. We
don't know for sure whether the condition actually will be fulfilled or not, but
the condition seems rather realistic – so we think it is likely to happen.
Example:
I may have time to watch the match but I'm not sure about it.
Form:
if + Simple Past, + would + base verb
5/13
Were / Was
In conditional type 2, we usually use were" instead of "was" in the if clause "
even if the pronoun is I, he, she or it. "were" here is a subjunctive form.
Example:
Use
Conditional Sentences Type 2 refers to an action in the present that could
happen if the present situation were different. I don't really expect the
situation to change because it is very unlikely.
Example:
Form:
if + Past Perfect, + would + have + Past Participle
Use
Conditional Sentences Type 3 refer to situations in the past. They express
hypothetical results to past given situations.
Example:
Things to remember
1. The main clause can be also at the beginning of the sentence. In this case,
don't use a comma.

Example:
If I don’t see him this afternoon, I will phone him in the evening.
If he had been careful, he wouldn't have had an accident.
Introducción
Se pueden usar los verbos modales "must have", "can't have" y "might have" para hacer
Se usa "must have", "can't have" y "might have" al igual queel presente perfecto - la acción
presente.
"can't have": creemos que la acción definitivamente no fue así (lo contrario de "must
have")
o "She can’t have left the house yet because her car is still outside."
7/13
have").
"might have": creemos que es posible que sucediera la acción, pero no lo sabemos
seguro.
o "She might have gone to the shops."
haya ido a otro lugar.
"might not have": creemos que es posible que la acción no hubiera sido así, pero no
estamos seguros.
o "He might not have finished his exams yet."
"might have" / "might not have" estructura de tercera conditional: imaginar el posible
o "If I had known about the traffic problems, I might have taken a different route."
Forma
Se usa "must have", "can't have" y "might have" con el participio pasado del verbo principal:
8/13
might (not)
posible We taken the medicine.
have
They spoken to the
He / She / manager.
"might not" puede contraerse
en "mightn't".
Forma interrogativa
No se usa "must have" o "can´t have" en forma interrogativa porque se usan cuando creemos
que algo es cierto. Se usa “must have” en la forma interrogativa:
