Desconectar la batería y retirar o desactivar las fuentes de
encendido antes de drenar el tanque"

Vaciar el tanque de combustible completamente en un

recipiente certificado para el uso de líquidos inflamables.
Utilización de aparatos respiratorios y cualquier otro equipo
necesario.

Organizar un plan de observación, evaluación, rescate y

evacuación

Enjuagar los tanques a fondo varias veces con agua tibia y

jabón y viértela en un recipiente certificado para líquidos
inflamables.
Medidas de
seguridad
Evacuar los vapores de combustible desde el tanque con
una manguera de aire, por un período mínimo de una hora o
hasta que el olor de combustible no se detecte desde el
filtro.

Llevar a cabo pruebas químicas para determinar si todos los

vapores de combustible se han eliminado y si el depósito es
apto para soldar.

Soldar el depósito y una vez que el tanque se haya enfriado,

poner una pequeña cantidad de combustible en el depósito y
verificar que no se presenten fugas.

SERIOUS INJURIES

Three workers were seriously injured, before a fuel tank has exploded that they
were welding.
The unfortunate accident happened at Thursday at 11 o clock in the welding
workshop located in EnerSur City of Pampa Inalámbrica.
The explosion occurs before the employees dismantle the fuel tank of the trailer’s
tractor plate A20-813 to do autogenous welding works

Accident Causes Incorrect extraction and cleaning of fuel tank.
Disconnect the battery and remove or disable ignition
sources before draining tank.

Empty the fuel tank completely into a container certified for

the use of flammable liquids. Use of breathing apparatus and
any other necessary equipment.

Organize an observation, evaluation, rescue and evacuation

plan.

Security Rinse tanks thoroughly several times with warm soapy water
Measures and pour into a certified container for flammable liquids.

Evacuate the fuel vapors from the tank with an air hose, for a
minimum period of one hour or until the odor of fuel is not
detected from the filter.

Carry out chemical tests to determine if all fuel vapors have

been removed and if the tank is suitable for welding.

Weld the tank and once the tank has cooled, put a small
amount of fuel in the tank and check for leaks.
