Quintanilla
Selena Quintanilla Pérez fue una cantante estadounidense. Su
música solía tener ritmo tejano y alcanzó bastante éxito. Nació el 16 de abril
de 1971 en Lake Jackson, Texas. A pesar de que nació en Estados Unidos y
de que su idioma principal era el inglés, siempre cantó en español.
Creció en una familia amorosa y alegre, de origen hispano. El padre
de Selena, Abraham Quintanilla, también fue músico, aunque no contó con
tanto reconocimiento como su hija. En el instante en que su familia se
percató de que Selena poseía una voz privilegiada hicieron lo posible
porque, la que entonces era una niña, aprovechara y desarrollara sus dones.

Lastimosamente, la historia de Selena Quintanilla llegó a su fin de

manera abrupta cuando el 31 de marzo de 1995. Yolanda Saldívar,
presidenta de su club de fans, le disparó en la espalda por motivos
económicos. La dos se conocían desde hacía un buen tiempo y Yolanda
trabajaba para el padre de Selena en una de sus tiendas. Cuando la familia
se dio cuenta que los estaba estafando, la cantante fue a reunirse con ella
para dejar las cosas claras y Yolanda Saldívar la asesinó.

A partir de su muerte se han publicado diversas recopilaciones de su obra

como: Dreaming of You (1995), Éxitos del Recuerdo (1995), Siempre
Selena (1996), Anthology (1998), Cumbias (1999), All My Hits, Vol.
1 (1999), All My Hits, Vol. 2 (2000), Selena Remembered (2005), La

Selena Quintanilla Biography

Selena Quintanilla Pérez was an American singer. His music used to

have a Texan rhythm and achieved quite success. He was born on
April 16, 1971 in Lake Jackson, Texas. Although he was born in the
United States and his main language was English, he always sang in
Spanish.
He grew up in a loving and cheerful family, of Hispanic origin.
Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla, was also a musician, although
he did not have as much recognition as his daughter. The moment
his family realized that Selena had a privileged voice, they did their
best because, who was then a girl, took advantage and developed
her gifts.
Unfortunately, Selena Quintanilla's story came to an abrupt end
when March 31, 1995. Yolanda Saldívar, president of her fan club,
shot her in the back for economic reasons. The two had known
each other for a long time and Yolanda worked for Selena's father
in one of her stores. When the family realized that he was cheating
them, the singer went to meet her to make things clear and
Yolanda Saldívar murdered her.

Since his death, several compilations of his work have been
