MODELACIÓN HIDROLÓGICA E HIDRÁULICA

Dentro de las obras que se realizarán en el presente proyecto vial se plantea la construcción
de una obra de paso, para restituir la continuidad de la trayectoria del cauce interceptado.
En el presente documento se presenta el modelo hidrológico e hidráulico de la quebrada
Chilgo, la cual intercepta la vía, con el propósito de determinar la creciente máxima en el
período de retorno de 20 años, como lo establece el Manual de Carreteras del INVIAS.

Parámetros Físicos de la miocrocuenca de la quebrada Chilgo

En el PBOT del municipio de Silvia se encuentra el mapa hidrológico, el cual se presentan


las cuencas y los drenajes. Con este mapa se delimitó la microcuenca de la quebrada
Chilgo, además de establecieron todos los parámetros físicos necesarios para la modelación
hidrológica e hidráulica.

De acuerdo con los parámetros establecidos anteriormente se determina la metodología


para calcular el caudal máximo instantáneo el sitio de la obra. Para lo cual se utiliza la
clasificación realizada por el INVÍAS, de acuerdo con el tamaño de las cuencas como lo
muestra la siguientes tabla.

De acuerdo con la tabla anterior se utiliza el método racional, puesto que el área de drenaje
es menor a 2.5 Km2.

7.2 Modelo lluvia – escorrentía

• Método Racional

El método racional parte de la definición del coeficiente de escorrentía C, valor


adimensional, el cual se puede definir como la relación entre el volumen de escorrentía
superficial, VE, y el volumen de precipitación total, Vp, ambos expresados en m3, así:

I: intensidad de precipitación, en metros por segundo (m/s). t: Tiempo de duración de la
lluvia, en segundos (s).
A: Área de drenaje de la hoya hidrográfica, en metros cuadrados (m2).

Entonces,

El numerador representa el volumen de escorrentía superficial por unidad de tiempo de


duración de la lluvia y el denominador representa el volumen de lluvia por unidad de
tiempo de esta duración.

Ahora bien, si A está dado en km2, i en mm/h y Qp en m3/s, la anterior ecuación queda
igual a:

La aplicación de la fórmula racional depende del coeficiente de escorrentía, el cual se


encuentra en tablas elaboradas para tal fin.

Finalmente el caudal resultante por el método racional se calculó con los siguientes datos

1. MODELO LLUVIA ESCORRENTÍA MHEC-HMS 4.2.1

El modelo lluvia escorrentía es usado frecuentemente para determinar los caudales


máximos que se presentan en una cuenca hidrográfica y está basado en la información de
precipitación que se tenga en la zona de estudio. Además, este modelo tiene en cuenta otras
características de las cuencas en relación con la morfometría, el tipo de cobertura, la
infiltración y el tiempo de concentración entre otros. También es necesario la selección del
periodo de retorno del aguacero de diseño con el cual se quiere calcular el caudal. El
producto final del modelo será el hidrograma que representa el total de escorrentía
producida por la cuenca en un aguacero para un periodo de retorno determinado. Este
modelo es un instrumento básico para realizar a futuro modelaciones hidráulicas, conocer
los niveles máximos de la superficie del agua y tomar decisiones tendientes a solucionar
problemas.

Este modelo es utilizado frecuentemente en cuencas que no cuentan con registros históricos
de caudales máximos. Es una modelación hidrológica que se hace con la ayuda del software
The Hydrologic Modeling System, HEC-HMS 4.2.1, utilizando el método del Número de
Curva C.N del Soil Consarvation Service S.C.S y se encuentra dentro del conjunto de
programas desarrollados por el cuerpo de ingenieros de la armada de los Estados Unidos.

Para la aplicación de este modelo se utiliza la información reportada en las estaciones


meteorológicas existentes en el municipio. Para este caso se tienen en cuenta los reportes de
lluvias máximas registradas en 24 horas, así mismo las precipitaciones máximas diarias y
los caudales máximos registrados en las series históricas de dichas estaciones.

A continuación, se describen cada uno de los elementos que requiere el modelo para
determinar los caudales máximos

1.1 SELECCIÓN DEL PERIODO DE RETORNO

El primer instrumento necesario para la adecuada ejecución del modelo lluvia escorrentía,
es la selección del periodo retorno en este caso se utilizó un periodo de retorno de 20 años
como está dispuesto en el Manual de Drenaje, que deben utilizarse para el diseño, de
acuerdo con esta metodología.

RELACION SUELO COBERTURA

Para la obtención de los caudales máximos, THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE SCS,
desarrolló una metodología en la que se evalúa la precipitación efectiva durante una
tormenta, es decir, durante precipitaciones máximas las cuales fueron evaluadas en
capítulos anteriores.

El SCS. Después de analizar hidrogramas de cuencas experimentales ha confeccionado un


procedimiento para estimar la infiltración potencial en base a la relación suelo cobertura,
CN (curva número) que se relaciona mediante la siguiente expresión.

El valor de CN depende del tipo del uso, tipo, pendiente y condiciones de humedad del
suelo. Para definir los grupos hidrológicos se utilizan las clases texturales (USDA) las
cuales se presentan en el siguiente cuadro.

Es un modelo empírico desarrollado por el Servicio de Conservación de Suelos de Estados


Unidos que determina un umbral de escorrentía (P0) a través de un número hidrológico o
número de curva (CN) agregado de la cuenca. El Numero de Curva toma un valor de 0 a
100 según sea su capacidad de generar escorrentía superficial. Valores cercanos a 0
representan condiciones de permeabilidad muy alta, mientras que valores cercanos a 100
representan condiciones de impermeabilidad. (http://www.aguaysig.com/2017/01/metodo-

A medida que el suelo disminuye su permeabilidad el valor de CN aumenta y por lo tanto la


escorrentía se hace mayor.

Debido a que las características del área en una cuenca son variables, tales como la
cobertura, el tipo y uso del suelo, la pendiente del terreno, elementos necesarios para
obtener el CN ponderado.

Para la obtención de este parámetro, se reconstruyeron los mapas de uso y cobertura de


suelo del municipio, así como el mapa de suelo, el cual se caracterizó en cuanto a las
texturas que se encuentran en cada tipo de suelo y se clasificaron en los distintos grupos
hidrológicos, este procedimiento se realizó con base en el Estudio General de Suelos del
Departamento y Zonificación de Tierras del Cauca (IGAC 2009). Asimismo, se construyó
el DEM (Modelo de Elevación Digital) Para la microcuenca.

Todo lo anterior se realizó con las herramientas de ArcGis. Posteriormente se procedió a


utilizar la extensión HecGeoHMS y su herramienta Generate CN Grid, de esta manera se
obtuvieron los CN ponderados de cada microcuenca como se muestra en la siguiente tabla.

Luego de determinar los elementos necesarios para realizar la modelación hidrológica en


mediante el software HEC-HMS 4.2.1, se procede a correr el modelo, para la microcuenca
sobre la cual está ubicada el BOX CULVERT, A continuación se presentan los
hidrogramas obtenidos al correr el modelo lluvia escorrentía.

RESULTADO DE LA MODELACIÓN HIDROLÓGICA


De acuerdo con los reportes generados en el modelo de lluvia escorrentía mediante el HEC-
HMS 4.2.1 se obtuvo un resultado para el caudal máximo:

INTRODUCCIÓN

Hoy en día se dispone de diversos software específicos de modelización hidráulica que


facilitan la entrada de datos geométricos e hidráulicos de una corriente hídrica y permiten
visualizar gráficamente los resultados de niveles máximos de un caudal para un periodo de
retorno determinado, en diferentes secciones tranversales de dicha corriente. Incluso, estos
resultados pueden ser exportardos en forma de tablas, lo que facilita su interpretación. Entre
todos ellos, se destaca sin duda el software HEC-RAS (desarrollado por el Hydrologic
Engineering Center del US Army Corps of Engineers, uno de los programas de referencia
dentro de su campo.

Se trata de un software gratuito, por lo tanto su uso se ha generalizado y se encuentra en


un proceso constante de actualización al introducir continuas mejoras. Esto ha hecho que
poco a poco la gran mayoría de administraciones hayan comenzado a exigir el estudio del
impacto que pueden representar sobre la dinámica de los cauces cualquier tipo de actuación
con un modelo hidráulico suficientemente fiable, como es el caso de HEC-RAS.

Utilizaremos el HEC-RAS 5.0.3 para modelar el comportamiento de la Quebrada Chilgo


con la estructura de un Box culvert propuesta para la vía.

Conclusiones:

• Las dimensiones adoptadas para el box culvert son convenientes para las
características hidráulicas e hidrológicas del proyecto.
• El ancho (3m) del box culvert aparentemente se puede ver como grande, pero las
características de esta quebrada (de montaña) que presenta crecientes con palizadas
lo requiere. Esta es la razón principal de ésta dimensión y así evitar represamientos
que afecten la estructura de la vía.
• El número de Froude que se calculó en la corrida (mayores a 1) ratifica la entrada
del dato del régimen supercrítico como premisa del comportamiento del fluido en la
quebrada.
• La altura promedio de la lámina de agua en box culver es de 0.66 m para un caudal

de creciente de 4.33m /seg para un período de retorno de 20 años, por lo tanto la
estructura propuesta tiene suficiente capacidad hidráulica para afrontar las
características hidrológicas del sector, considerando un periodo de retorno de 20
años.
Por otra parte se hace el chequeo de las alcantarillas de la siguiente manera
EL caudal a tubo lleno para una tubería en concreto de 36” con una pendiente del 2% es de
2.67 m3seg (2670 l/s) , una velocidad de 4.07 m/s y una fuerza tractiva de 4.67 kg/m2.

El máximo caudal en la alcantarilla crítica es de 0.18471 m3/s.
