Nursing process Introduction: Coronary ischemic heart diseas (IHD) is the most important cardiovascular
disease is in the world due to the impact on morbidity and mortality. Myocardial infarction
(MI) is the most common presentation of HID. The WHO estimated that in 2002, 12.6% of
deaths worldwide were due to IHD.
Objective: To standardize nursing interventions in the care of patients with MI.
Methods: Specific clinical questions were formulated and structured. A standardized sequence
was established to search for clinical practice guidelines (CPG) related to the topic: diagnosis,
treatment and nursing interventions in MI, based on the keywords: nursing intervention,
myocardial infarction. In this strategy also included the subheadings: classification, diagno-
sis, thrombolysis, prevention and control, rehabilitation. We used also Cochrane Library Plus,
Science Direct, and OVID. Most of the recommendations were taken of selected guidelines.
The information is expressed in levels of evidence (E) and grade of recommendation (R)
according to the characteristics of the study design.
Conclusions: This CPG provides the best evidence on nursing interventions in the care of
