Perfil de Las Consecuencias de La Enfermedad
El Sickness Impact Profile fue desarrollado por Bergner y cols 1 en 1.976, con
objeto de disponer de una medida de salud que pudiera utilizarse en la asignación
de servicios sanitarios, la planificación y la formulación de políticas de salud, así
como servir de valoración de resultados sanitarios en la evaluación.
Su diseño fue muy cuidadoso2, de forma que proporcionara una medida del
estado de salud apropiada, válida y sensible, utilizable en distintos grados de
gravedad de enfermedad y en diferentes grupos demográficos y culturales 3, 4, . El
instrumento mide la disfunción y se basa en los cambios de conducta relacionados
con la enfermedad.
INTERPRETACIÓN
PROPIEDADES PSICOMÉTRICAS
Fiabilidad:
Respecto a la versión original 1, la fiabilidad test-retest varía de 0.87 a 0.97 y
la consistencia interna de la puntuación total es de 0.97; de 0.91 para las
dimensiones y de 0.6 a 0.9 para las categorías18.
Validez:
La correlación con el Índice de Katz de actividades de la vida diaria 9,19 oscila
entre 0.42 y 0.46. Este valor tan bajo puede explicarse3 por la amplitud de la
puntuación total del SIP. La correlación con el Índice de Barthel 20 es de 0.74. Las
subescalas del SIP correlacionan 0.86 (la física) y 0.65 (la psicosocial) con el
Arthritis Impact Measurement Scale24. La subescala psicosocial correlaciona 0.72
con la escala de depresión de Carroll21.
