IF puede ser sustituido por WHEN (cuando) o UNLESS (a menos que).

Utilizamos el condicional cero para expresar verdades absolutas, cuando al
darse la condicin SIEMPRE aparece el resultado. Es un HECHO, por lo tanto, no
estamos pensando en que ya haya pasado, ni en si pasar en un fururo.
Vemos que el ejemplo es un hecho, SIEMPRE que calientes hielo se derretir,
no importa cmo lo calientes, ni en que fechas estemos, ni nada. Si lo
calientas, se derrite. Es un HECHO.

Ej: If it rains, I will stay at home
Si llueve, me quedar en casa.
En este primer condicional estamos hablando sobre una condicin que se
puede dar en el FUTURO y el resultado de esa condicin. Existe una
POSIBILIDAD REAL de que la condicin ocurra, y por lo tanto de que se d el
resultado. Siempre que se la condicin suceda, el resultado se cumplir.
Imaginemos esta situacin: Es por la maana y tengo planeado ir a jugar a
tenis por la tarde, pero hay muchas nubes en el cielo y digo If it rains, I will
stay at home. Existe una posibilidad real de que llueva, y si eso ocurriera
entonces me quedara en casa.
