Escuche a una mujer que pide informacin sobre horarios de vuelos. Fjese en cmo usa
Id rather not... (Preferira no...)
cunto dura el vuelo?) Id rather not leave that early. (Preferira no salir tan temprano.) Do I have to change planes? (Tengo que cambiar de avin?) Do you serve any meals on that flight? (Sirven comida en ese vuelo?) Id like to reserve a seat on that flight. (Quisiera reservar un asiento en ese vuelo.) And Id like to order a special meal. (Y quisera pedir una comida especial.)
Escuche y repita las preguntas siguientes. Fjese en cmo todas las opciones que preceden a la ltima se pronuncian con entonacin ascendente y la ltima se pronuncia con entonacin descendente.
Do you want this seat or that seat? (Quiere este asiento o ese asiento?) How would you rather travel, by plane, by train, or by bus? (Cmo preferira viajar, por avin, por tren o por autobs?)
Vamos a escuchar ahora algunas preguntas en las que se ofrecen varias opciones pero que se pronuncian con diferente entonacin a las que escuchamos anteriormente. Observe cmo todas las opciones en estas preguntas tienen una entonacin ascendente para indicar que quizs hay ms opciones que las mencionadas. Repita cada pregunta con la misma entonacin que usa cada persona que habla.
What kind of meal would you like? Vegetarian, seafood, lowfat...? (Qu tipo de comida le gustara? Vegetariana, de mariscos, baja en grasa,... ?) On what day would you like to leave? Monday, Tuesday...? (Cul da le gustara salir? Lunes, martes,... ?)
Ahora escuche ms preguntas y piense qu tipo de entonacin se usa en cada una. Repita cada pregunta con la entonacin que le corresponde.
Would you like an aisle or a window seat? (Le gustara un asiento en el pasillo o en la ventanilla?) How would you like to fly? First class, business class? (Cmo le gustara volar? Primera clase, clase de negocios?) Do you want to travel first class or economy? (Quiere viajar en primera clase o clase econmica?) What kind of ticket did you buy? Round-trip or one-way? (Qu tipo de boleto compr? Ida y vuelta o sencillo?) What time do you want to leave? Six or six thirty? (A qu hora quiere salir? A las seis o seis y treinta?) How many tickets do you need? One, two? (Cuntos boletos necesita? Uno, dos?)
Ahora escucharemos otra vez la parte de la cliente en la conversacin. Repita cada frase despus de que la diga la mujer.
