Zika Virus

ETIOLOGIA:
Es una enfermedad que produce brote en la piel una
elevación de la temperatura corporal, causada por el virus
del zika (ZIKAV), transmitida por la picadura de hembras
del mosquito Aedes (el mismo que transmite dengue y
chikunguña). Fue detectada en monos en el bosque Zika
en Uganda (África) en 1.947.
 SINTOMAS
En general esta enfermedad presenta una evolución benigna; los síntomas aparecen 3
a 12 días después de que la persona haya sido picada por el mosquito transmisor de la
enfermedad. La infección también puede presentarse de forma moderada o sin
síntomas. La enfermedad se caracteriza por la presencia de síntomas como:
• Elevación de la temperatura corporal, que puede ser no muy alta.
• Ojos rojos sin secreción ni picazón.
• Erupción en la piel con puntos blancos o rojos.
• Dolores esporádicos en las articulaciones musculares, de cabeza y de espalda.
• Posibles afectaciones neurológicas e inmunológicas o congénitas, en pocos casos.
