FORMAS PARA EXPRESAR EL FUTURO EN INGLÉS

Las principales formas de expresión de FUTURO son:

 FUTURO SIMPLE …… WILL para expresar:

- Predicciones Tomorrow will rain in the evening

- Decisiones espontáneas He is bored now. He will come back
home.
- Acciones que estamos seguros que ocurrirán She will come
for Christmas
- Ofrecimientos Will you go for a walk? Will you have a cup of
tea?
- Promesas I promise I won’t be late again

 TO BE GOING TO para expresar:

- Predicciones I think is going to rain before you arrive home

- Decisiones planeadas ( se dice cuando va a tener lugar la
acción) He is going to come home tomorrow (we talked last
Monday about this)

  PRESENTE SIMPLE

Para referirnos a hechos que ocurren en el futuro sujetos a

horarios, podemos emplear el presente simple con valor de
futuro:

The train leaves at 3.

 PRESENTE CONTINUO

Cuando estamos muy seguros de los hechos que van a ocurrir

normalmente cuando sabemos fecha y hora, podemos utilizar el
presente continuo para expresar una acción futura. Son
normalmente lo que los ingleses llaman “Arrangements”. Son
planes fijados y que sabemos que van a ocurrir: I’m meeting him
tomorrow at 9.

O cuando tenemos intención de hacer algo en un futuro muy cercano

Después de palabras como when, while, once, as soon as, before,

after, until etc no se suele usar el futuro con will o going to. Se
utilizan tiempos en presente como presente simple, presente continuo
o incluso el presente perfecto

o I’ll help you when I have time / Te ayudaré cuando tenga

tiempo
o When I am older, I will buy a Ferrari / Cuando sea mayor,
compraré un Ferrari
o She will call you after she finishes the report / Ella te
llamará después de que termine el informe
o After I saw the movie, I came back home / Después de que
vi la película, volví a casa
