DETECCIÓN DE SARS-CoV-2 MEDIANTE PCR FAST

RESULTADOS
RT-PCR CORONAVIRUS SARS-CoV-2: NEGATIVO

METODOLOGÍA
La muestra ha sido sometida a un proceso de tratamiento enzimático que permite digerir el tejido y la mucosidad
además de la desnaturalización de las estructuras proteicas presentes en el medio como es la cápside viral, con
ello se consigue el acceso al ARN viral paraa posterior amplificación por RT-PCR. Del mismo modo la muestra es
sometida a un choque térmico para inactivación viral.

LIMITACIONES
1. Se recomienda el uso de muestras frescas siempre que sea posible. La congelación/descongelación reiterada de las muestras
puede interferir en el análisis e interpretación de los resultados.
2. Un resultado positivo indica la presencia del genoma viral de SARS-CoV-2 detectable.
3. Un resultado negativo no excluye la posibilidad de exposición o infección con el virus de la COVID-19.
4. La PCR Fast tiene una concordancia con la RT-PCR con extracción de RNA convencional del 97,6 %. En positivos con ciclos
menores a 30, la concordancia es del 100%, sin embargo, en ciclos por encima de 30 la concordancia disminuye drásticamente. Se
ha descrito en la bibliografía que las muestras por encima de ciclo 30 no implica capacidad infectiva, siempre atendiendo a los
síntomas clínicos y seguimiento médico.
5. Un resultado negativo de la prueba con signos clínicos compatibles con infección por SARS-CoV2, se recomienda realizar un
nuevo análisis, especialmente con otros tipos de muestras como las de vías respiratorias inferiores.
6. Al igual que todas las pruebas diagnósticas, un diagnóstico definitivo no debe basarse en el resultado de una sola prueba, sino que
debe ser realizado por el médico después de evaluar todos los hallazgos clínicos y del laboratorio. El resultado ha de ser interpretado
por el médico.

SARS-CoV-2 DETECTION BY PCR

RESULTS
RT-PCR CORONAVIRUS SARS-CoV-2: NEGATIVE

METHODOLOGY
The sample has been subjected to an enzymatic treatment process that allows the digestion of the tissue and the
mucus as well as the denaturation of the protein structures present in the medium such as the viral capsid, thus
achieving access to the viral RNA for subsequent amplification by RT-PCR. In the same way, the sample is
subjected to a thermal shock for viral inactivation.

LIMITATIONS
1. The use of fresh samples is recommended whenever possible. Repeated freezing / thawing of samples can interfere with analysis
and interpretation of results.
2. A positive result indicates the presence of the detectable SARS-CoV-2 viral genome.
3. A negative result does not exclude the possibility of exposure or infection with the COVID-19 virus.
4. Fast PCR has a concordance with conventional RNA extraction and RT-PCR of 97,6 %. In positives with cycles below 30 the
concordance is 100%. However, in cycles above 30 the concordance decreases drastically. It has been described in the literature that
samples above cycle 30 do not imply infective capacity, always taking into account the clinical symptoms and medical follow-up.
5. A negative test result with clinical signs consistent with SARS-CoV2 infection, retesting is recommended, especially with other types
of specimens such as those from the lower respiratory tract.
6. As with all diagnostic tests, a definitive diagnosis should not be based on the result of a single test, but should be made by the
physician after evaluating all clinical and laboratory findings. The result has to be interpreted by the doctor.

 INFORMACIÓN A CONSIDERAR SOLO EN EL CASO DE RESULTADO POSITIVO
De acuerdo con las recomendaciones oficiales de la administración española sanitaria, le informamos de las
directrices a seguir en caso de que el resultado de su test COVID19 sea POSITIVO. En este caso, Usted DEBE:
• Aislarse 10 días en su domicilio y llevar un control de los síntomas que desarrolle.
• Contactar con su médico de familia o centro de salud más próximo, o llamar al 112. Independientemente
de si Usted dispone o no de SIP o tiene contratada una póliza con una compañía de seguros (sea o no
funcionario de la Administración Pública).
• Avisar a las personas con las que ha estado en contacto los 2 días previos a la realización de este test o a
la aparición de los síntomas.
A partir de que Usted haya tomado en cuenta las directrices anteriores:
• Su médico de familia decidirá el día que puede finalizar el aislamiento, debiendo cumplirse estos dos
criterios:
• Haber estado en aislamiento un mínimo de 10 días
• Llevar más de 3 días sin síntomas.
• No es necesario realizar ninguna prueba para poder finalizar el aislamiento, a no ser que su médico se lo
recomiende.

INFORMATION TO CONSIDER ONLY IN CASE OF POSITIVE RESULT

In accordance with the official recommendations of the Spanish Health authorities, we inform you of the guidelines
to follow in the event of a POSITIVE COVID19 test result. If your test is POSITIVE, you MUST:
• Isolate yourself for 10 days at home and keep track of your symptoms.
• Contact your general practitioner or nearest health center, or call 112. This should be done regardless of
whether you have an SIP (ID health card) or a private health insurance.
• Notify the people with whom you have been in contact 2 days prior to performing the COVID19 test or at
the beginning of symptom development.
Once you have taken the previous guidelines:
• Your general practitioner will decide the day when the isolation can end, for which these two criteria must
be met:
• Having been in isolation for a minimum of 10 days.
• Having been asymptomatic for at least 3 days.
• It is not necessary to perform any test to be able to end the isolation, unless your doctor recommends
otherwise.
