ABSTRACT
In the practice carried out, the phenomenon of interaction between electrically charged bodies was
demonstrated. Rubbing was used to charge two rods, one made of polypropylene and the other made
of acrylic, which showed the ability to attract or repel each other depending on their charges. This
experiment is part of the study of electromagnetism, which seeks to understand the fundamental
principles that govern the interaction between electricity and magnetism, as well as the magnetic
properties of materials. In the laboratory, the polypropylene rod was suspended balanced by a support
and its interaction with the acrylic rod was observed, avoiding any contact that could alter its charge.
It was found that electrically charged rods repelled each other when they had the same charge, and
attracted each other when they had opposite charges.
