learning goal, I needed to read and utilize a wide
range of sources to ensure reliable information,

the effect it would have on my audience. At the
same time, I also had to constantly reflect on
my progress to distinguish which skills I had
mastered, such as finding sources, or taking
detailed notes, as well as the skills I needed to
improve.

3.2 Research – Information Literacy Skills >>

Research and data collection were not only a
key part of developing my product, but it was
the main step in which I could achieve my
learning goal. In order to accomplish my aim
of understanding more about what COVID-19 is
and how it can be prevented, it was absolutely
crucial that I did a lot of research. By applying
prior knowledge in subjects like biology and
history, I was quick to make use of various
media to ensure reliability in my research. This
meant that I not only utilized online sources,
but I also contacted relatives that know about
this topic, and created a survey which I sent to
professionals to confirm all my findings. Creating
a survey in different languages truly allowed me
to explore more areas of information literacy,
and it pushed me out of my comfort zone, as it
required a lot of analysis and summarizing. An

comprehend medical vocabulary and terminol-
ogy related to COVID-19. While this was not too
hard a challenge, it allowed me to expand my vo-
cabulary and knowledge in the subject of biology,
which may be very useful in my next few school
years. After finishing my research, I had to com-
bine all my findings to draw a final conclusion.
It was important that I had a detailed picture in
my mind of what my research paper would look
like before writing it, and because of this, I was
able to develop a part of my language compre-
hension skills. Perhaps the area which I practised
the most during the process of writing this paper,
however, was literacy skills. In order to display
all my learnings both in this project, and in the

Printing a 3D Lung Model
The second half of my product goal consisted of a
3D lung model, which would show the difference
between a normal, healthy human lung, and a
COVID-19 lung. My aim was to be as realistic as
possible with the models, while making them
easy to understand so that my audience could
truly learn from my exhibition. With this part of
my product, I was able to experiment a lot with
different media and ways of creating models. In
addition to creating prototypes and asking for
guidance from my design teacher, I also found it
important to conduct research about the values
and limitations of using different materials. For
instance, one of the designs I considered, and

even attempted to make, was a lightbox. I had
planned to make a lightbox with a general lung
diagram, and add on flashcards that would show
the effect of different diseases on the lung. After
creating this model, however, I quickly realized
that it was not very gaudy, as well as being too
fragile. This would not interest my audience, and
it would perhaps be too small to show the actual
difference, which was my main goal. Through
this whole process, I developed my media literacy
skills, especially in terms of understanding the
impact of media representations and modes of
presentation. I then adapted my design to a 3D
printed model, and created my final product. My

Para saber cómo hacer cosméticos éticamente responsables y saber cómo funciona un

Goals and Motivation


Throughout the few months this project lasts I I decided that I wanted to create a videogame
hope to learn about a variety of different things because I’ve always liked working with

At   the   beginning  of  this  Project,  I  created  a  Task  Timeline.  This  timeline  outlined  the  tasks  I
predicted I’d have to complete to create my product and  was composed  of 12 different tasks
spread   throughout 15 weeks, starting in   early October, and   finishing in   the Second   week of
