IN THE NEGATIVE:

Lo normal tanto a la hora de escribir como de hablar es contraer, por eso, la no-contracción se
usa o bien en e-mails o documentos escritos formales, o bien, para generar énfasis en que algo
NO ha sido efectuado, y se pronuncia expresamente ese “NOT”, por ejemplo, en el caso de “Tú
no eres Helen”, “You are NOT Helen” si queremos hacer énfasis en que NO lo es, marcaríamos
ese NOT al hablar.

Tú no eres Helen– Youare not Helen / Youaren’t Helen (pronunicado “arent”)

Ella no es de este mundo – Sheisnotfromthisworld- Sheisn’tfromthisworld (“isent”)

Los niños no están en el colegio – Thechildrenaren’t at school (Children es plural; sería
