Presentación

El verbo "to be" es un verbo irregular y

altamente versátil que se utiliza para expresar
identidad, características esenciales y estados
tanto temporales como permanentes. A
continuación, veremos su conjugación en los
principales tiempos verbales y cómo se utiliza en
diferentes situaciones:
Presente Simple (afirmativo):
El presente simple del verbo "to be" se utiliza para
hablar sobre estados permanentes o hábitos en el
presente.

 I am (Yo soy/estoy)
 You are (Tú eres/estás)
 He/She/It is (Él/Ella/Usted es/está)
 We are (Nosotros/Nosotras somos/estamos)
 You are (Vosotros/Vosotras sois/estáis)
 They are (Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes son/están)
Formas del Presente Simple
(Contracciones):

I am = I'm
 You are = You're
 He/She/It is = He's/She's/It's
 We are = We're
 You are = You're
 They are = They're

Forma negativa
Para formar la negación del verbo "to be", simplemente
colocamos "not" después del verbo "to be". A continuación,
te muestro la conjugación en negativo y las contracciones
correspondientes:

 I am not = I'm not

 You are not = You aren't
 He/She/It is not = He/She/It isn't
 We are not = We aren't
 You are not = You aren't
 They are not = They aren't

Pasado Simple
El pasado simple del verbo "to be" se utiliza para
describir estados o situaciones que ocurrieron en el
pasado.

 He/She/It was (Él/Ella/Usted era/estaba)
 We were (Nosotros/Nosotras
éramos/estábamos)
 You were (Vosotros/Vosotras erais/estabais)

 You were busy yesterday. (Eras/Estabas ocupado/a

Formas del Pasado Simple (Negativo)

 I was not = I wasn't

 You were not = You weren't
 He/She/It was not = He/She/It wasn't
 We were not = We weren't
 You were not = You weren't
 They were not = They weren't
