User Guide
Starting Test
Make sure the communication cable is connected properly, and the power has been switched on.
Start the test program CDM8240.exe under the specified directory, if the message “Init com fail” occurs,
indicating that the serial port is inexistent or occupied, proceed as follows:
Step A: Click “OK” to confirm, pop up the following screen, choose the test menu “Setup”
“SetComm” to set the com port that the machine is connected to and apply it. If failed, perform step B.
Asegúrese de que el cable de comunicación esté conectado correctamente y que la alimentación haya

5. Operation Instructions
5.1 General Test

Init -- Initializes the CDM8240 to check if all parts work properly, and shows the status of each sensor in
above figure.

GetStatus -- Gets the status of CDM8240, the status of each sensor is shown in above figure (red-
covered, blue-warn, black-normal).

Purge -- Purge the notes, on the transport, or on the note stacker, to the reject tray. The number of
rejected notes shall be displayed in the prompt box Result.

GetVerison – Get the firmware’s version.It will be showed in the prompt box Result.

ClearLog --Clear the Log data stored in the control board. Be careful to do this command.
ClearLog --Borre los datos de registro almacenados en el panel de control. Tenga cuidado de no hacer

PreDeliver –Deliver the note from note stacker to the note hold position.
PreDeliver –Pasa el billete desde el stacker a la posición de retención de billetes

Deliver –Deliver the note out of the presenter to the customer.

Reject - - Reject the notes which are on PCS or SCS.It will also rejects the notes in other
position on the note transport.

Retract - - Retract the notes which are on PES.If there is no notes on the PES,It will return
the warning code.The retract position can be choosed from the retract item: BRFS or PCS,
BRFS —— Retract the notes to the reject tray.
PCS —— Retract the notes to the note hold area.
Retract - - Retracta los billetes que están en PES. Si no hay notas en el PES, mostrará un código de advertencia. La

Dispense -- Picks up the requested number of notes from each cassette.The details are as follows:
1. Acquire the authorization of dispensing notes.

Step A: First enter the ODS mode:

In normal mode, press two white buttons on the operation panel simultaneously until two LEDs begin
flashing, and then release the buttons, the LEDs stop flashing and the dot at the lower right-hand corner
of the LEDH gets light.

Step C: Exit the ODS mode

Press two white buttons on the operation panel simultaneously until two LEDs begin

Now, the process of dispensing notes may be performed.
2. The total dispensed amount should not be larger than 50, or equal to 0.
3. Do not attempt to dispense the notes from inexistent hopper.
4. If the option “TestDispense” is selected, the dispensed notes shall be returned to the reject tray.
5. There are five dispense items that decide the note dispense action (See the Dispense Item in the
above page):

TO BRFS —— After the picking process,the notes will be delivered to the note hold area and then will be

TO SCS —— After the picking process, the notes will left on the stacker area and waiting.

Note: it is necessary to acquire the authorization again if the test program is restarted.

5. The result of dispensing notes shall be displayed in corresponding prompt boxes.

RecycleTest - - Set the function of cycling-dispensing notes, wherein the dispensing interval, total
dispensed amount and cycling times all can be set through the program. Note the followings:
Step A: First acquire the authorization of dispensing notes.
Step B: General cycling-dispensing notes (Run): dispenses the notes according to the number of notes
set to each hopper.
Step C: Random cycling-dispensing notes (Random): selects any one (existent) from slot1~slot6 to
dispense the notes, the dispensed amount can be set within 1~50.
StopRecycle - - Cancel the function of cycling-dispensing notes.

RecycleTest - - Establezca la función de dispensación de billetes en ciclos, en donde el intervalo de

dispensación, la cantidad total dispensada y los tiempos de ciclo se pueden configurar a través del
programa. Tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:

In order to ensure a proper note dispensing, first set the corresponding parameters:
1. As shown in the figure, click the button “Set1” to set the general parameters, and click the button “Get2” to
acquire the parameters.
2. As shown in the figure, set the general parameters according to the actual requirements of notes, otherwise the
process of dispensing notes can not be performed properly.

5.3 Advanced Maintenance

5.3.1 Main motor/Diverter test

1. Main motor test, in item “MainMotor” provide “CW High”, “CW Low”, “CCW High”, “CCW Low”, “Stop”
function. Do not forget to make the “Stop” command to change the Main motor’s direction.
2. Pick motor test, in item “PickMotor” select in turn each pick motor for different hoppers to rotate
counterclockwise or clockwise, to check if each pick motor works properly, note to pull the cassette
out of the hopper before test.
3. Diverter test, in item “DiverterCtrl” select “SingleDiverter” to perform, under normal conditions, the
SingleDiverter shall be moved upwards or downwards to proper position; in item “DiverterCtrl” select
“BunDiverter” to perform, under normal conditions, the BunDiverter shall be moved upwards or
downwards to proper position;
4. Stacker motor test ,in item “StackerMotor ” provide “CW””STOP”function.
5. In “BunArea“provide two state “stacker”and “Deliver”.

5.3.1 Main motor/Diverter test

1. Pick motor test ,La prueba del motor principal, en el ítem "MainMotor" proporciona la función "CW
High", "CW Low", "CCW High", "CCW Low", "Stop". No olvide hacer el comando "Parar" para
cambiar la dirección del motor principal.
2. . Pick motor test. Prueba del motor de Pick, en el ítem "PickMotor", seleccione a su vez cada motor de
Pick para que diferentes cassettes giren en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj o en el sentido de
las agujas del reloj, para verificar si cada motor de Pick funciona correctamente, tenga en cuenta de
sacar el cassette antes de la prueba.
3. Diverter test. Prueba de desviación, en el ítem "DiverterCtrl", seleccione "SingleDiverter" para
realizar, en condiciones normales, el SingleDiverter se moverá hacia arriba o hacia abajo hasta la
posición adecuada; en el elemento "DiverterCtrl", seleccione "BunDiverter" para realizar, en
condiciones normales, el BunDiverter se moverá hacia arriba o hacia abajo hasta la posición
adecuada;
4. Stacker motor test. Prueba del motor del apilador, en el ítem "StackerMotor" proporciona la función
"CW" "STOP".
5. En "BunArea", hay dos opciones "Stacker" y "Entregar".

5.3.2 Sensors test

1. In above figure, click the “Get” button, the status of each sensor shall be displayed (green-normal, red-
covered or faulty, blue-warning), where in the faulty (red) or warning (blue), the photo sensors need to
be repaired.
2. SLLS and SLRS sensors are only valid for SLLS, that is, if the SLLS and SLRS simultaneity display
red, indicating the SLLS is faulty, irrelevant with SLRS. The status of SLRS may be acquired through
the command” GetStatus” in the “General Test” page.

5.3.3 FactorySettings
This command is make the control board to its default settings, Only repairing the main board you need to do that.
This command will clear the LOG data and restore the special parameters to factory setting.

board se necesita hacer esto.. Este comando borrará los datos del LOG de registro y restaurará los parámetros

5.3.4 SelfCalibration
The “SelfCalibration” command only used in the following situations:
1. When the Double-detect sensor module is adjust or repaired.
2. When repair or replace a new control board.

Before the CDM is sold from the factory, we have already made the selfcalibration.By doing this
command, the CDM will calibrate the double-detect sensor to make sure that the machine is ready for the
note thickness detect.
Before you doing the “Selfcalibration”command, you should prepare or confirm the following things:
1. Prepare at least 12 pieces of Calibration Notes.
2. Make sure that the Double-Detect Module has been adjusted OK.

And if these two things are already prepared,then choose the slot Number that hold the calibration notes
and make sure the thickness value is right according to the Calibration Notes,then you can click the
“SelfCalibration ”button.CDM will pick 12 of notes to make the whole calibration process.After it finish, the
result will show at the result window.

5.3.4 SelfCalibration
El comando "Autocalibración" solo se usa en las siguientes situaciones:
1. Cuando el módulo del sensor de detección doble se ajusta o repara.
2. Cuando repare o reemplace la control board.

Antes de que se venda el CDM de fábrica, ya hemos realizado la autocalibración. Al realizar este

input must refer to GRG’s related manual.

2.No need to calibration many times,one successful operation is enough.

5.4 Performance Test

5.4.1 MTS value adjustment Note: The double-detect sensor has been adjusted before leaving the factory, so if no
following conditions occur, do not execute this command.
1. The double-detect sensor has been adjusted or disassembed.
2. Sensor spring replaced.
3. Change another control board.
4. Still a large amount of notes rejected after “SelfCalibration”.
How to adjust the MTS:
1. Click “MTS Value” button to get the value, the value should be within “2800~3200”, otherwise it is
necessary to adjust the Double-detect sensor again.
2. When the value is between “2800~3200”,put the calibration note at the double-detect sensor,see the
value again.If the value become much lower,such as “2400” or other number.It means OK, if the value
is higher or not become lower,then you need to adjust again.
3. Click “Stop” button to end.
5.4.1 MTS value adjustment
Nota: el sensor de detección doble se ha ajustado antes de salir de fábrica, por lo que si no ocurren las
siguientes condiciones, no ejecute este comando.
1. El sensor de detección doble ha sido ajustado o desarmado.
2. Se reemplazó el resorte del sensor.

Cómo ajustar el MTS:

5.4.2 Thick value

The detailed limit conditions and execution method are similar to MTS value.

5.4.3 Life info

Get the total dispensed amount and total rejected amount for the dispenser during operation cycle.

5.4.4 Last dispensing info

Get the transaction information for the last time, convenient to the analysis of last dispensing
status, possible results are as follows:
1. Under the condition of normal dispensing, the total dispensed amount, total rejected amount,
dispensed and rejected amount from some hopper may be acquired.
2. In case of power shutdown during the dispensing, the total dispensed amount (out of cassette), total
rejected amount (into reject tray) and total dispensed amount (out of exit) may be acquired.

5.4.4 Last dispensing info

5.5.1 Download procedure

1. Switch the dispenser power off;
2. Click “Open File” button to select the firmware program, the file suffix is “.s”;
3. Click “Download” button to enter the preparing download state, then proceed to next step immediately;
4. Switch the dispenser power on within 60 seconds after clicking the “Download” button;
5. In the course of update, the progress bar shall indicate the update process;
6. Reset the dispenser.

5.5.1 Download procedure

1. Apague el dispensador;
2. Haga clic en el botón "Open File" para seleccionar el programa de firmware, el sufijo del archivo es

5.5.2 Possible problems and measures

1. After above step 4, if the update state is not displayed through the progress bar, indicating this
operation is failed; now click “Stop Download” button, then switch the dispenser power off, retry in 10
seconds. If still failed, perform next step.
2. Close other program(include CDM ToolPlus) which uses same serial port,then download the program
again..

5.5.2 Possible problems and measures

1. Después del paso 4 anterior, si el estado de actualización no se muestra a través de la barra de
progreso, lo que indica que esta operación ha fallado; ahora haga clic en el botón "Stop Download",

6. Menu Operation
6.1 Read Log
Select “File－> Read Log” command to get the log data, the interface is as follows:

1. “Log Directory” indicates the directory under which the file is stored, optional.
2. “Log File Name” indicates the file name, user-defined.
3. Click “Read” button, the required log shall be acquired, and related file path is displayed.
Note:If read log failed,please close other program which use the same serial port,and make sure
there is only one CDM ToolPlus is running , then retry.

6.2 Set Communication Port

Select Setup－>SetComm command to set the communication serial port or USB port.

6.3 Help Menu
Select Help－>Query Error Code command to inquire the error codes, as shown below.

Click the pull-down button to view the corresponding error codes; if the error code is entered directly in
“ErrorCode”, then click “View” button, the definition of error code may be viewed rapidly.
