Be – interrogativo y negativo
La forma interrogativa negativa del verbo be se forma colocando la contracción del negativo antes del sustantivo o
pronombre. Fíjese que en la primera persona singular no es posible ninguna contracción con am y not.

Cuando usamos el comparativo de igualdad, el adjetivo no cambia de forma como lo hace con los otros
grados de comparación. Por ejemplo:
BE + AS… AS
Recuerda que el verbo BE debe traducirse según el sujeto de la oración que, en este caso, es el sustantivo 1.
Ejemplo:
They are as tall as their father ( ellos son tan altos como su padre )
It ‘s as bright as the sun ( es tan brillante como el sol)
“as much as “es una variación más coloquial de “as…as” que además se puede usar con más verbos por
lo tanto, usamos el patrón V + as mucha y significa “V + tanto como”
Con un adjetivo de una sola silaba formamos el comparativo añadiéndole las letras <<ER>>
Cuando el adjetivo tiene tres silabas o más, no añadimos <<er>> al final de este sino que
formamos el comparativo con la palabra more y el adjetivo, seguido de la palabra than
Verbo to be
Ejemplos
He is a nice boy – él es un chico simpático
El último ejemplo se acompaña del verbo “tobe” ya que estamos hablando de tiempo.
Verbo Tobe en el presente simple afirmativo: i am, you are, he is, she is, it is. Son del singular.
Worst – él peor
Most – mayoría
Least – él menos
Adjetivos irregulares
Son aquellos que no forman el comparativo y el superlativo de la misma forma que los demás. No
hay reglas específicas para estos verbos, así que hay que aprendérselos de memoria.

Aquí hay algunas estrategias que puede utilizar para estudiar los adjetivos de igualdad,
comparativos, superlativos, superlativos e irregulares en inglés.
¿Cómo se usa un flashcard?
Un flashcard es una tarjeta pequeña y sencilla que se utiliza para estudiar información una forma
visual y concisa. Aquí hay un paso a paso para hacer una flashcard.
Identifica la información que desea aprender esto se puede ser una definición, una fecha, un
concepto o cualquier otro tipo de información que necesites recordar.
Revisa tus tarjetas regularmente: para asegurarte de retener la información. Puedes hacerlo con
alguien más.
Estudio en grupo: discutir y explicar con otros puede ayudar a obtener una comprensión más
profunda y a identificar sus debilidades y fortalezas.
Algunos ejemplos de adjetivo de igualdad de forma en inglés son: “equal”, “identical”, “similar”,
“equivalent” y “the same”
Ejemplos de cómo se utilizan
the two books are equal in size. – (los dos libro son iguales en tamaño)
these two paintings are identical. – (estas dos pinturas son idénticas)
his old car and the new one are similar in dising. – (su antiguo carro y el nuevo son
similares en su diseño)
the Us dollar and the euro are equivalent in value. – (el dólar estadunidense y el
euro son equivalentes en su valor)
Los adjetivos comparativos en inglés se utilizan para comparar dos cosas y expresar que
una de ellas es más de algo que la otra. Para formar el comparativo de un adjetivo corto
en inglés, se agrega “-er” al final de adjetivo. Para los adjetivos largos se utiliza la palabra
“more” antes del adjetivo.
EJEMPLOS
she is taller than her sister. (ella es más alta que su hermana)
this laptop is faster than my old one. ( este laptop es más rápido que el antiguo)
the new movie was more exciting than the old one. (la nueva película fue más
emocionante que la antigua)
my new car is more confortable than mi olde one. (mi nuevo automóvil es más cómodo
que mi antiguo)
this restaurant is more expensive than the other one. (Este restaurante es más caro que el
otro)
she is the tallest girl in the class. (ella es la chica más alta en la clase)
this is the fastest car in the world. (este es el automóvil más rápido del mundo)
the new movie was the most exciting one i’ ve seen. (la nueva película fue lo más
emocionante que he visto)
my new car is the confortable i’ ve ever drive. (mi nuevo carro el más comodo que
he conducido)
Aquí hay algunos ejemplos de adjetivos irregulares en inglés y como se forman sus comparativos y
superlativos.
Ejemplo:
Tisis the best movie i’ ve seen this year. (esta es la mejor película que he visto este año)
She is the worst Singer in the competition. (ella es la peor cantante en la competencia)
This is the furthest i’ ve ever been from home. (esto es lo más lejos que he estado de
casa)
She has the least experience of anyone in the group. (ella tiene la menor experiencia de
cualquiera en el grupo)
He is the oldest person in the room. (él es la persona más vieja en la habitación)

Los complementos en singular que se pueden contar llevan el artículo indefinido antes del

Para conjugar cualquier verbo en el afirmativo del presente (menos los dos verbos be y have),
se quita la partícula to del infinitivo y se antepone el pronombre.
Con los pronombres de la tercera personal del singular, o sea he, she it, y con un sustantivo
usado en singular como boy, girl, house siempre se añ ade una s al verbo.
Este tiempo se usa para representar acció n habitual o un estado o un hecho

TO THE TEACHER
The exercises in each lesson marked practica verbal are to be used as a verb conjugation
study. Each exercise of this type will cosist of a group of short sentences that will serve as a
model for all the verb tenses and constructions with which the students have become
familiar.
The sentences should be 1) translated into spanish so the student will know exactly what he is
repeating in English;2) read in English one at a time by the teacher with emphasis placed on
pronunciation and repeated in chorus by the students; 3) read in chorus by the students until
they mastered the verb tenses, construction, and Word order.
