Serpy, la Serpiente

En un bosque denso y oscuro vivía Serpy, la serpiente.

Una serpiente no tiene piernas. Una serpiente no puede caminar. No puede correr. Una serpiente no tiene
alas. Una serpiente no puede volar. Una serpiente no puede nadar en línea recta.

Pero Serpy quería caminar, correr, volar y nadar en línea recta.
Eso era todo en lo que podía pensar.

"Si tuviera piernas, caminaría en línea recta.
Si tuviera alas, volaría en línea recta."

- ¡Pero oh, soy tan rara!
¡No puedo caminar recta, no puedo correr recta!
¡No puedo volar recta, no puedo nadar recta!

Solo me puedo deslizar


zig zag, zig zag, zig zag.

Un día Serpy vio pájaros volando en el cielo.
Estaban subiendo, bajando, dando vueltas en círculos y arcos. Ningún pájaro volaba derecho.
¡Esto hizo pensar a Serpy!

Mirando a través de las llanuras un día, Serpy vio algunos cervatillos.
Los cervatillos corrían aquí y allá. Corrían en zigzag. Ni un solo cervato caminaba en línea recta.
¡Esto hizo pensar a Serpy!

Serpy fue hacia el río.
Los peces del río se movían y movían mientras nadaban.
¡Esto hizo pensar a Serpy!

Serpy estaba sentada en la orilla del río, perdida en sus pensamientos.
En ese momento llegó un cangrejo. Serpy se apartó. Pasó el cangrejo. ¡Pero no en línea recta! El cangrejo
tenía media docena de piernas y sin embargo ¡no podía caminar en línea recta!
¡Esto hizo pensar a Serpy un poco más!

Serpy pensó, ¿realmente necesitaba alas? ¿Realmente quería esas piernas? Ahora el zigzag, luego cruzado,
no es la forma en que se movía.

Estoy bien como soy. Mis caminos de deslizamiento son siempre los
mismos.
Mis formas en zigzag son las mismas cada día. Y el resto de ellos son
¡como son!

1. Dibuja cinco formas geométricas hechas de líneas rectas.
2. Nombra cinco animales que se mueven de maneras divertidas.
3. Mira a tu alrededor. A ver si ves por lo menos cinco seres vivos
