La paz mundial es el concepto de un estado ideal de felicidad, libertad y paz entre

todas las personas y naciones en la Tierra. Esta idea de la no violencia mundial es una motivación
para que las personas y las naciones cooperen, de manera voluntaria o en virtud de un sistema de
gobierno. Es un acuerdo tácito que permite a todos los individuos realizar sus actividades sin
interferencias y prevenir la violencia. Además, busca fortalecer los vínculos sociales y que primen
los valores del respeto, la justicia y la aceptación.

La cultura de paz consiste en promover una serie de valores, actitudes y comportamientos, que
rechazan la violencia y previenen los conflictos.

Inicialmente lo que se conoce como cultura de paz nació como definición en Costa de Marfil en el
año 1989, luego la ONU adoptó el término para buscar enmendar los conflictos y negociar entre
naciones para promover la paz. Los parámetros que se buscaban en el año 2000 era crear un
mundo más justo, libre y digno. Los problemas son parte de la convivencia entre personas y
grupos, por diferentes intereses y formas de pensar. No obstante siempre existen formas pacíficas
de solucionar estas situaciones.

Importancia:

- Es clave para el desarrollo de la sociedad

- Defiende la dignidad y derechos.
- Relación de armonía, libre de violencia y respeto.
- Aceptar las diferencias, escuchar, reconocer y apreciar a los demás.
- Participa y lucha por la justicia e igualdad de todos

En el nuevo milenio se desplegó personal para el mantenimiento de la paz en Liberia, Côte

d’Ivoire, Darfur, Sudán del Sur, Haití y Mali.

La ONU y la paz:

La diplomacia preventiva y mediación, mantenimiento de la paz, consolidación de la paz, lucha

contra el terrorismo y desarme (Oficina de Asuntos de Desarme).

Eleanor roosevelt: escritora y activista “No basta con hablar de paz, uno debe creer en ella y
trabajar para conseguirla”

Mahatma gandhi: abogado y político “No hay camino hacia la paz, la paz es el camino”

Confucio: pensador chino “Si no estamos en paz con nosotros mismos, no podemos guiar a otros
en la búsqueda de la paz”

Premio Nobel de la Paz:

Se otorga a aquel que haya puesto sus esfuerzos e intenciones en favor de las buenas relaciones
entre naciones, reducción de fuerzas armadas de diferentes naciones y promoción de la paz. Este
empezó a entregarse en 1901 y surgió a partir del testamento de Alfredo Nobel en 1895, en el que
doña a toda su fortuna para la realización de los premios.
