2.3 Regulación del caudal
Ante la falta de diversas indicaciones contenidas en las curvas características o en la hoja de datos, los límites dentro de los cuales es

está instalada la bomba

2.5 Usos prohibidos

3 ALMACENAMIENTO

Transportar la bomba mediante un medio cubierto y protegido de los agentes atmosféricos, en caso de transporte por mar, proteger la
bomba con un saco barrera y sales higroscópicas.
Durante el transporte, anclar la bomba a la plataforma del medio de transporte mediante correas para evitar cualquier posible daño.
Atención: Retire cualquier cuerpo libre de la plataforma de transporte para evitar cualquier posible
daño a la bomba
3.2 Desembalaje
Controlar siempre la correspondencia entre los documentos y la mercancía recibida y controlar los eventuales daños debidos al
transporte.
Atención: Comunicar a ROBUSCHI los daños detectados para valorar las condiciones de seguridad de la
bomba
Atención: Retirar el embalaje con cuidado sólo en el momento de la puesta en obra, eliminar todas los
elementos peligrosos (clavos, astillas, etc.)
3.3 Conservación
Conservar la bomba en un lugar cerrado protegido de los agentes atmosféricos en las siguientes condiciones climáticas:
Temperatura de –20 °C a 60 °C
Humedad relativa de 10% a 80%
Atención: Si durante el periodo de conservación las condiciones climáticas superan los límites
indicados, controlar la alineación de la junta y el apriete de los tornillos
Renovar el estado de conservación de la bomba cada 6 meses o más frecuentemente si la humedad relativa supera el 80% rellenando
completamente el soporte de aceite antioxidante y rociando del mismo el interior de la bomba.
Cada mes, girar a mano el árbol de la bomba durante algunas vueltas completas.
Si la bomba está dotada de retenes mecánicos, seguir las indicaciones específicas del constructor del retén.

4 INSTALACIÓN
4.2 Acoplamiento
Para el acoplamiento de la bomba, seguir las instrucciones del proveedor de la junta o bien las siguientes indicaciones generales.
Aflojar los tornillos 91 del pie 3134 del soporte y fijar la bomba a la base común con el motor, volver a atornillar los tornillos 91.
Introducir las semijuntas en los ejes de la bomba y del motor utilizando los medios de introducción oportunos.

4.3 Colocación
Prever una oportuna plataforma de cemento armado sobre la que fijar el grupo
electrobomba
Colocar el grupo electrobomba en horizontal utilizando los espesores situados bajo la
base y en las cercanías de los bulones de cimentación (Fig.3).
Colar el cemento en los orificios de cimentación, después de que el cemento haya
agarrado (al menos 48 horas) apretar los bulones de apriete.
Verificar que la bomba gire libremente a mano.
Verificar la alineación (véase el punto 4.2.1).

4.4 Tuberías principales
Dimensionar los diámetros de las tuberías en función de las pérdidas de carga admisibles para la instalación y, en cualquier caso, no
utilizar diámetros inferiores a los valores nominales de las bocas de la bomba
Atención: No usar el diámetro nominal de las bocas como referencia para las tuberías
Sujetar las tuberías cerca de las bocas de la bomba y, si fuera necesario, colocar fuelles metálicos para compensar las dilataciones
térmicas y no superar así las cargas admisibles en las bocas indicadas en la tabla de abajo.

Si el depósito desde el que la bomba aspira está colocado debajo de ella (batiente negativo), introducir una válvula de fondo 1 y,
eventualmente, una compuerta de interceptación 3.
La pendiente de la tubería debe favorecer el movimiento de las eventuales burbujas de gas/vapor hacia la bomba.
Cuando la bomba aspira desde un depósito colocado debajo de ésta (figura 5), verificar que en cualquier condición de funcionamiento
la profundidad de suspensión H del extremo del tubo de aspiración o de la válvula de fondo sea suficiente para impedir la aspiración
de aire.

4.5.1 Contención hidráulica de la junta de prensaestopas

4.5.2 Fluidificación del retén mecánico
Para conectar la fluidificación del retén, consultar los esquemas adjuntos a la documentación de
la bomba y a las instrucciones específicas.

Haga que especialistas autorizados realicen la instalación eléctrica según las normas vigentes en el lugar de instalación y según las
prescripciones del Ente distribuidor de la energía eléctrica.
Controlar en las placas del motor eléctrico: Tensión, Corriente nominal, Frecuencia, Número de Fases.
Controle el esquema de conexión contenido en la caja de conexiones del motor; si no está disponible, solicítelo al constructor del
motor.
Dimensionar los cables eléctricos en función de la corriente nominal.
No colocar cables cerca de fuentes de calor o de aristas
Proteger el motor con un interruptor automático calibrado con respecto a la corriente nominal del motor.
Instalar un cuadro local con un botón de emergencia E entre la línea de alimentación y la bomba en las cercanías de la misma.

5 FUNCIONAMIENTO
Atención: Reabastecer de aceite el soporte de la bomba (punto 6.1), engrasar los cojinetes del motor
Atención: Controlar la correspondencia entre los datos del proceso y las características indicadas en la
placa de la bomba
Asegurarse de que las tuberías de aspiración y de impulsión y de los circuitos auxiliares estén conectadas de manera correcta
Abrir completamente la eventual compuerta colocada en la tubería de aspiración de la bomba
Cebar la bomba rellenando completamente la tubería de aspiración y la propia bomba con el líquido que debe transportarse:
• con batiente positivo es suficiente abrir un poco la compuerta de interceptación colocada en la tubería de impulsión
• con batiente negativo, quitar la tubería de impulsión y rellenar la bomba y la tubería de aspiración mediante la boca de impulsión
Ante una junta de prensaestopas, con o sin contención hidráulica, antes de la puesta en marcha, apretar el prensaestopas,
enroscando de manera homogénea las dos tuercas de apriete (pos.203), después, aflojar las mismas para garantizar que el
prensaestopas se retrasa y una carrera libre de unos milímetros (las estopas comprimidas en un primer momento deben poderse
expandir libremente).
Abrir la alimentación de los circuitos auxiliares, en concreto, presurizar el circuito de fluidificación de los retenes dobles
Atención: No poner en funcionamiento la bomba en el sentido equivocado durante más de alguna vuelta
Cerrar completamente la válvula de regulación colocada en la tubería de impulsión, si existe la válvula de fondo, se puede dejar la
válvula de interceptación abierta
Abrir gradualmente la compuerta de regulación colocada en la impulsión y controlar la presión de aspiración y de impulsión hasta
alcanzar la presión diferencial de contrato.
Atención: Si la bomba se pone en marcha con la compuerta de regulación abierta, se produce una
excesiva absorción de potencia
Ante una junta de prensaestopas, con o sin contención hidráulica, una vez alcanzadas las condiciones de trabajo y verificada una
pérdida copiosa por parte del propio retén (debida al retraso del prensaestopas producido antes de poner en marcha la máquina),
apretar de nuevo de manera homogénea las dos tuercas de apriete para obtener así una pérdida de líquido regular con un goteo que
tenga una entidad de aproximadamente una gota por segundo.
Controlar, durante las primeras 8 horas de funcionamiento, la potencia absorbida de la bomba, la presencia de pérdidas por el retén
del eje, el goteo regular en caso de junta de prensaestopas, la presencia de pérdidas de aceite o la presencia de sobrecalentamientos,
en caso de condiciones anómalas, detener la bomba y contactar con ROBUSCHI, o un vendedor autorizado.

6 MANTENIMIENTO
Atención: Está prohibido realizar trabajos en caliente (soldaduras, corte, etc.) en la bomba. Eventuales
trabajos en caliente (soldaduras, corte, etc.) en las cercanías de la bomba deben ser autorizados por el
responsable de la seguridad de la instalación y deben seguir los procedimientos adecuados
Atención: - Seccione la alimentación eléctrica, bloquee el seccionador general en posición abierta con la
llave y consérvela durante la intervención de mantenimiento.
Atención: El líquido contenido en la instalación puede ser caliente, inflamable, tóxico e irritante: Eliminar
los líquidos contenidos en la bomba según las disposiciones locales. Descontaminar la bomba antes de
operar en ella

los anillos en la caja estopa, ayudándose, si fuera necesario, del

con correspondencia del orificio de contención.
• Apretar el prensaestopas y repetir las operaciones recomendadas en el caso de la primera puesta en marcha en relación a la junta

6.4 Verificación de las vibraciones
Controlar el valor medio de la velocidad eficaz en los puntos indicados en la

6.7.4 Sustitución de la placa de desgaste.
Operación que debe efectuarse cuando la placa y/o la turbina presenten un desgaste tal que pueda perjudicar el rendimiento de la
bomba
• Desmontar la bomba como se indica en el punto 8.1
• Limpiar el cuerpo bomba como se describe en el punto 6.7.1
• Sustituir la placa de desgaste
• Volver a montar la bomba como se indica en el punto 8..2
• Regular el juego Placa/Turbina siguiendo el procedimiento del punto 6.5 (sólo RACNS-RACN)

8.2 Remontaje
• Limpiar cuidadosamente todas las partes con productos compatibles con los materiales y lubricar con aceite o grasa los
acoplamientos
• Verificar los juegos de funcionamiento de la bomba y, eventualmente, sustituir las partes desgastadas
Atención: No está permitido el uso de repuestos o accesorios no originales. ROBUSCHI no será responsable de
inconvenientes, roturas o accidentes debidos al empleo de repuestos o accesorios no originales.
Soporte
• Montar el anillo externo del cojinete 3012 (sólo para VI soporte o para soportes versión ISO 5199 o para bombas serie RACNS-
RACN o para bombas con retén mecánico)
• Montar los cojinetes 3011 y 3012 en el eje mediante una herramienta introductora o precalentando el cojinete a 80°C
• Introducir el eje 2100 con los cojinetes en el soporte 3130 introduciéndolo por el lado control
• Montar las tapas 3261 y 3262 introduciendo juntas 4541 nuevas
• Introducir el anillo antisalpicaduras 2540 en el eje 2100, después, introducir la lengüeta 6742 en la terminal del eje
Para las bombas de las series RNS, RKNS, RCNS, RCPNS, RACNS, RKCS del I y del II soporte realizar las siguientes operaciones
después de haber colocado en vertical el conjunto soporte/eje. Después de haber montado la tapa del cuerpo, el sistema de retén de
eje, turbina y ojiva es posible proceder al montaje en posición horizontal
Junta de prensaestopas
• Instalar la junta 4551 en el eje 2100 (sólo bombas RN, RCN, RCPN, RACN y RKC)
• Introducir la camisa de protección eje 2450
• Introducir el prensaestopas 4120 y el eventual anillo 4134 en el eje
• Introducir la tapa 1222 en el cuerpo 3130
• Después del reensamblaje final, introducir los anillos de prensaestopas 4130

axial correcto. En caso contrario, desmontar la turbina y trabajar la parte
trasera de la misma para restablecer el juego necesario
• Empujar el casquillo 601 contra el retén estático 600 hasta que se realice la
cuota “N” y apretar los bulones 602
Montaje final
Para todas las bombas, excluidas aquellas con retén hidrodinámico:
• Introducir en los correspondientes alojamientos en la turbina o en la ojiva las juntas tóricas de estanqueidad 4551 (sólo para
bombas RNS, RCNS, RCPNS, RACNS, RKCS)
• Introducir la lengüeta 6710 y la turbina 2200 o bien 2293
• Enroscar la ojiva 2912 o el tornillo de bloqueo 2913
Finalmente, para todas las bombas:
• Introducir el conjunto soporte/eje/turbina en el cuerpo y fijarlo con las tuercas 202

1.2.1 Impeller
The shape of the impeller 2200 characterizes the hydrodynamic series of the pump

The chamber seal is housed in the casing cover 1222, it allows the installation of several kind of seal

2.3 Flow adjustment
If not otherwise indicated in the characteristic curves or in the data sheet of the pump the limits of the flow capacity of the pump are

Transport the pump in a closed transport device protected against the atmospheric agents, in case of sea transport use barrier sac with

During transport fix the pump to the base of transport devices using belts in order to avoid any possible damage to the pump

3.2 Unpacking
Check always the correspondence between documents and materials and the presence of eventual damages due to transport.
Warning: Refer to ROBUSCHI any damage to evaluate the safety conditions of the pump
Warning: Remove with care the packing only at on-site procedure, dispose all the dangerous elements
(nails, splits, etc…)
3.3 Preservation
Keep the pump in a closed place protected against atmospheric agents at the following climatic conditions:
Warning: If, during storage, the climatic conditions overcame the indicated limits check the pump
clearances, the coupling alignment and the screws tightening
Warning: Do not preserve the pump in atmosphere with any substance also feebly corrosive
Warning: Preserve the pump onto ground without any weight onto it
Renew the preservation every 6 months or more frequently if humidity is higher than 80% filling-up the inside of the bearing support
with anti-rust oil and spraying it into the pump.
Every month rotate the pump shaft by hand for a few revolutions
If the pump has a mechanical seal follow the preservation indication of the seal manufacturer

4 INSTALLATION
4.2 Coupling
For coupling of the pump follow the indications of coupling constructor or follow the following general indications
Unscrew the screws 91 of bearing racket foot 3134 and fix the pump to the common base frame to the electric motor, screw the screws

Slide the half couplings onto the shaft of the pump and of the motor using suitable tools.
Secure the half couplings with security dowels which will push on the keys.
Place the pump at the distance S from the motor as indicated in the table below.
Align the shafts of the pump and of the motor by shims under the feet of the motor and/or pump.
Check the alignment by using comparators or gauges with scales as shown in paragraph 4.2.1.

4.4 Pipelines
Size the diameters of the pipelines in relation to the allowable pressure losses in the plant and in any case not smaller than the nominal
diameters of the pump nozzles
Warning: Do not use the nominal diameters of the pump nozzles as reference for sizing pipelines
Support the pipelines close to the pump nozzles and eventually insert a metallic expansion joint to compensate the thermal expansion
of the pipelines so do not overcame the allowable loads on the pump nozzles indicated in the table below.

In case of suction from tank positioned under the pump (negative head) insert a foot valve 1 and eventually a shut-off valve 3.
The slope of the suction pipe must increase towards the pump to avoid the standstill of the gas/vapour bubbles.
In this case the depth H under liquid level of the foot valve or of the end of the suction pipe must ensure that in any operating conditions
there is no air inlet due to a lowering of liquid level in the tank.

4.5.3 Seal cooling jacket supply
Collect the inlet and outlet pipes of the cooling liquid to the connections C of the casing cover
of the pump
The maximum allowed pressure inside the cooling jacket is 4 bar
The cooling liquid must be clean, not aggressive and fluid enough to avoid deposits
If water is used is recommended soft water with following characteristics

5 OPERATION
Warning: Fill the pump bearing support with lubricating oil (paragraph 6.1), grease the motor bearings
Warning: Check the correspondence between the process data and the characteristics indicated on the
nameplate of the pump
Check that the suction, discharge and auxiliary circuits pipes are connected correctly
Open the eventual shut-off valve in the suction pipe
Prime the pump filling completely the suction pipe and the pump with the conveyed liquid:
• with positive head is sufficient enough to open the shut-off valve in the discharge pipe
• with negative head dismantle the discharge pipe and fill the pump and the suction pipe through the discharge nozzle
For soft packing seal, with or without barrier liquid, before starting the pump tighten the stuffing box gland, screwing homogeneously the
two nuts (part n.203), then unloose them to warranty a back space and a free excursion of some millimetres to the stuffing box gland
(the compressed packing rings must be able to be free expanded).
Warning: Do not start the pump with the auxiliary circuits closed
Check the direction of rotation of the pump by means of a short current pulse.
Note: the arrow on the bearing support indicates the correct direction of rotation
Warning: Do not rotate the pump in the wrong direction for more than a few revolutions
Close completely the adjusting valve in the discharge pipe, if there is the foot valve the adjusting valve can be open
Open gradually the adjusting valve in the discharge pipe and check the suction pressure and the discharge pressure till to reach the
contract pressure
Warning: Do not run the pump with the adjusting valve closed for a period longer than one minute

again, obtaining a leakage with an entity of approximately a droplet per second.
During the first 8 hours of operation check the power absorbed, the presence of leakages by the shaft sealing system for mechanical
seal system, the normal drip if a soft packing seal is installed, check that there are no strange noises, vibrations, oil leakage or
overheating, if such problems are found stop pump immediately and contact ROBUSCHI or an authorised distributor.
Warning: If there are unusual noises or vibrations stop the pump immediately and contact ROBUSCHI

Warning: Do not run the pump with the adjusting valve closed for a period longer than one minute

5.5 Black-out
In case of black out the pump is not damaged and not induce any risk of explosion.
Warning: During the blackout it is forbidden to carry out any staff service on the pump
Warning: Follow the start procedure at par. 5.2 when the electric supply is restored

6 MAINTENANCE
Warning: It is forbidden carry out any hot work (welding, cutting, etc…) on the pump. Eventual hot works
(welding, cutting, etc…) near the pump must be authorized by the plant safety responsible and must be
carried out following suitable procedures
Stop the pump and auxiliary system as indicated in the paragraph 5.4.
Warning: Disconnect the electric supply, lock the general switch in open position with the key and
conserve it during service operation
Warning: Wait until the pump returns at ambient temperature (< 40 °C)
Insulate the pump from the plant and restore the atmospheric pressure into it.
Warning: The liquid contained in the plant can be hot, flammable, toxic and irritant: Dispose the liquids
contained in the pump in accordance to the local regulations. Depollute the pump before operate onto
the pump
Warning: Do not use mineral oil with EP additives or silicon or diester base synthetic oils

6.6 Electric motor maintenance
Warning: Keep to prescribed safety rules when using solvents and wear protection glasses and safety
gloves. Dispose the washing residuals in accordance with the local regulations
Warning: Follow in any case the indications of the attached seal manual, if not present request it to
ROBUSCHI or to seal manufacturer

6.7.4 Wear plate replacement
Carry out this operation when the wear plate or the impeller are too worn and the efficiency of the pump too low
• Dismantle the pump as indicated at paragraph 8.1
• Clean the casing and the impeller as indicated at paragraph 6.7.1
• Replace the wear plate
• Reassembly the pump as indicated at paragraph 8..2
• Adjust the clearance between the plate and the impeller following the procedure at paragraph 6.5 (only RACNS-RACN)
In case of order please quoting always Type, serial number and year of construction of the pump (these elements are indicated in front
page of this manual) and relevant position of spare part indicated in the table above.
Warning: Do not use non-original spare parts or accessories. ROBUSCHI will not be liable for any
damage, breakdown, injury deriving from the use of non-original spare parts or accessories
Warning: Transfer the pump in a safe zone before any operation of demolition
Warning: Dispose the used oil in accordance with local regulations. Dispose the residual of internal
liquids in accordance with local regulations
Demolish the pump in such a way to make impossible to use again the pump as complete unit, or to use again one or several parts of
the pump.
Note: Destroy the name-plate of the pump and any other document

8 DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY
Disassembly the pump within the guarantee period results in the cancellation of the guarantee.
Disassembly, repair work and reassembling of the pump must be carried out only by qualified personnel and with the aid of suitable
equipment. Carry out the disassembly and reassembly operation only in a safe zone
Prepare the pump following the instruction of the paragraph 6

8.1 Disassembly
The bearing support, together with the cover and the impeller, may be removed
from without disassembly the casing and disconnect the pipes.
For the parts identification refer to the sectional drawing at pages 51-63 of this
manual
• Disassemble the motor or, if there is a coupling spacer, remove the spacer
without remove the motor
• Unscrew the bolts fixing the foot 3134 to the base frame
• Unscrew the nuts 202 fixing the cover 1222 to casing 1111
• Extract the unit support/shaft/casing cover/impeller as indicated in figures 14.a and 14.b
For RNS, RKNS, RCNS, RCPNS, RACNS, RKCS pumps of I and II support execute the following operations after vertical positioning of
the unit support/shaft/casing cover/impeller. After dismantling ogival nut, impeller, shaft sealing system and casing cover, it is possible
to proceed with dismantling in horizontal position
• Unscrew the ogival nut 2912 or 2914 or the locking screw 2913
• Extract the impeller 2200 or 2293 and remove the key 6710

• Unscrew the eventual nuts 202 fixing the cover 1222 to the support 3130
and extract the cover together with the shaft sleeve 2450
• For single mechanical seal extract the shaft sleeve 2450 together with
rotating parts of the mechanical seal 2450
• For double mechanical seal remove the flange 4213 and extract the shaft
sleeve 2450 with rotating parts of the mechanical seals
• Extract the gasket 4551 from the shaft 2100 (only for RN, RCN, RCPN,
RACN and RKC pumps)
Hydrodynamic seal
• Remove intermediate baffle 61 by hammering lightly its rim
• Extract secondary impeller 2293
• Remove cover 1222 from bearing support 3130
• Remove flange 4120 from cover 1222 and extract static seal 600
• Unscrew dowels 602 61
• Extract sleeve 601 from shaft 2100 2293

8.2 Reassembly
• Clean carefully all the parts with products compatible with the materials and lubricate with oil or grease the coupled parts
• Verify the pump clearances and if necessary replace the worn parts

damage, breakdown, and injury deriving from the use of non-original spare parts or accessories
Bearing support
• Mount the outer ring of the bearing 3012 (only for VI support or for ISO 5199 version support or for RACNS-RACN series pumps or
for hydrodynamic seal pumps)
• Mount the bearings 3011 and 3012 onto the shaft 2100 by means of special tool or heating them at 80°C
• Insert the shaft 2100 with the bearings in the support 3130 introducing it from drive side
• Mount the covers 3261 and 3262 placing the new gaskets 4541 in between
• Introduce the flinger 2540 onto shaft 2100, then introduce the key 6742 onto shaft
For RNS, RKNS, RCNS, RCPNS, RACNS, RKCS pumps of I and II support execute the following operations after vertical positioning of
the unit support/shaft. After the reassembly of casing cover, shaft sealing system, impeller and ogival nut it is possible to proceed
reassembly in horizontal position
Mechanical seal
Hydrodynamic seal
• Fit the O-ring 4427 and dowels 602 to the sleeve 601
• Introduce the sleeve 601 on the shaft 2100 till flinger 2540
• Mount the O-ring 4426, the static seal 600 and the static seal flange 4120 on
the casing cover 1222
• Fit the cover 1222 on the bearing support 3130
• Fit key 6710 and insert secondary impeller 2293 on shaft 2100 till shoulder
• Spread anaerobic sealer on the cover surface to be matched with the
intermediate baffle 61 and fit the intermediate baffle 61
• Insert impeller 2200 and impeller nut lock washer 6543 on shaft 2100
• Tighten screw 2913 on the shaft end
• Check the correct axial clearance between impeller 2200 and intermediate
baffle 61. In case it doesn’t correspond disassemble impeller 2200 and
machine its back side to obtain the due clearance
• Push sleeve 601 against static seal 600 to obtain dimension “N” and tight
dowels 602
Final assembling
For all pumps excluding those with hydrodynamic seal:
• Insert into the appropriate housings located on the impeller or on the ogival nut the o-rings 4551 (only for RNS, RCNS, RCPNS,
RACNS, RKCS pumps)
• Introduce the key 6710 and the impeller 2200 or 2293
• Screw the ogival nut 2912 or the locking screw 2913
At last, for all pumps:
• Introduce the unit support/shaft/impeller into the casing and fix it with the nuts 202
