No estoy tan solo. Escucho
Sleepless Wanderer Report

This may be nought but a night
and I merely the man writing; this is not a golden afternoon and I am not the cooling breeze; nor is it just a childhood memory when that fig tree in the garden seemed like autumn: huge, unbreakable, and silent.
It is the brimming glass of water
that I drink, parched as I am. The moon, flirting, peeks through as this hand continues to write, wishing, waiting for the dawn.
No, this is not an ageless man
nor is this night just any night. There is no sheet to pull from the calendar today. Perhaps I sigh. There are many, yes, many years beating in unison.
I am not alone. I hear the one
who sleeps a dry, moaning sleep, and it is a dream, a life, like time advancing in arrogant steps. The birds went to bed hours ago. I am at last safe from their squawking recriminations.
At the dawn of another world,
who am I? Yearning for the wide expanse of light that spreads along the sky, looking for the smell of rain, despite its complete indifference towards the city far below, who am I to entreat the dawn for a bit more color, light, or mystery? Nobody. No one at all.
It turns out now I am the one
who chases after fleeting love for days, many, many days. The light shines onto the desk and new, slow pages pile up. The one who savors the flare of tragic destiny and the ironic uncertainty of chance. The one who still continues to dream.
Tomorrow in any case, the dawn
will come. The birds will return, with their screaming racket. Your laughter will miraculously come back; the arduous work of the sun as well, and your eyes.
With him come the slow shadows,
the wonder of knowing you are alive, an inhabitant of the soft ticking of time, and the inhospitable space of each new day.
At long last the morning comes:
It is day, no longer distant night nor man alone. Dreaming sleep comes to a stop. Everything begins anew but differently. I open the door and, mercilessly, I let the whole world in.
