¿Para que sirve el pass true? , ¿y para que nos sirve esta información?
Esta información está destinada para todos aquellos talleres que requieran hacer programación de computadoras y que tengan el
AVDI, ya que con el avdi no requieren comprar los equipos originales y gastar fuertes cantidades en todos los equipos.
El AVDI tiene una función que se llama (pass true driver) que es gratis para todos aquellos clientes que compraron la interface de
Diciembre del 2010 en adelante, con esta función tienen la habilidad de de programar calibraciones en computadoras, siempre y
cuando tengan acceso a los sitios de los fabricantes originales para descargar las calibraciones y hacer las programaciones con el
avdi.
Todas las armadoras de auto tienen que cumplir con la regla SAE J2534 pass through reprogramación para modelos 2004 en adelante
para reprogramar computadoras de motor.
Adicionalmente las especificaciones incluyen que todos los originales usen el J2534 (METODO DE REPROGRAMACION) En
vehículos 1996 hasta 2003 y el hardware necesario, tiene que estar disponible para todos los talleres que no son agencias
automotrices, si el fabricante original no provee los equipos tiene que proporcionar la información de quien vende estos equipos para
que los talleres puedan trabajar o un equivalente, J2534 Pass through es obligatorio para vehículos 2004 en adelante, pero es solo
requerido por computadoras de motor, adicionalmente en algunas marcas puede tener aplicaciones de diagnostico.
Cada marca requiere calibraciones para la computadora de motor, en sus páginas de internet. Es responsabilidad de cada marca
mantener todas las actualizaciones en sus páginas, y tener todas las calibraciones disponibles para descargarlas.
1.- que el vehículo tenga el voltaje adecuado, constante y especificado durante la reprogramación
2.- que el vehículo tenga el sistema eléctrico funcionando perfectamente (batería en perfecto estado, todas las conexiones
Sin embargo estos procesos requieren de un conocimiento especial en cuanto a las recomendaciones de seguridad ya
que se pueden ocasionar daños irreparables a las unidades de control ecu, una recomendación para estos
procedimientos es mantener un voltaje de batería estable durante el tiempo en que se realizan las programaciones
utilizando equipos que brinden esta posibilidad.
Existen infinidad de posibilidades para sacar el máximo de provecho a este tipo de herramientas, dentro de nuestra
programación de capacitación virtual o curso online estaremos incluyendo un módulo exclusivamente para J2534, en el
cual tendremos acceso a material multimedia sobre este tema.
Es importante conocer el procedimiento a la perfección y seleccionar el equipo adecuado ya que hay alternativas en el
mercado de interfaces que pueden generar confusiones al momento de programar y puede que no sea compatible con el
software del fabricante.

Misleading Wording for CVT Oil Pressure Calibration Utility Vehicle(s): 2014 Corolla
Description: Current wording states to "Cycle IG ON" in steps 2 and 3 which may be misunderstood to turn the key off and
then back on, which differs from the TIS repair manual instructions.
Work Around: Follow the TIS instructions which states, "(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait at least 2 seconds." and
then, "(e) Start the engine and wait at least 5 seconds".
Status: Fix to be implemented in V9.0. (820-004).
Active Test "HIGH" for VALVEMATIC does not function Vehicle(s): 2014 Corolla
Description: The "HIGH" Active Test for Valvematic (ENG ON) does not function, resulting in an error message (S307-82), "ECU cannot
perform the requested Active Test". The "LOW" Active Test functions normally.
Status: Under investigation (820-003).
TIS Access Error (DOF/DLC Campaigns)
Vehicle(s): 2004 and older Toyota and Lexus vehicles (vehicles with VIN on Data List)
Description: When performing a Health Check, an error message will be displayed stating, "Techstream was unable to access the
network. Some information may not be available."
Work Around: Error message provides two options, "Try Again" and "Continue". Select "Continue" to proceed with Health Check.
Status: Fix to be implemented in future software release.
Unable to Use Injector Volume Active Test
Vehicle(s): 1998 Camry

Description: Consistent loss of communication when attempting to use the Injector Volume Active Test.
Status: Under investigation.
Print Failures
Vehicle(s): N/A

Description: Print errors occur when attempting to print data. This error is most prominent with users attempting to print to Lexmark
brand printers
Status: Under investigation.
A/F Control Active Test Error

Description: Attempting to use the Active Test “A/F Control” consistently results in an error.
Status: Under investigation.
Vehicle(s): Any vehicle to be equipped with optional TVIP V4 Remote Engine Start System.
Device(s): Techstream Lite (Mongoose VIM)
Description: When installing said system, registration of the ECU using Techstream Lite may result in failure.
Status: Under investigation. Please use Full Techstream to complete the ECU registration process.
Freeze Frame Data is Blank
Vehicle(s): 2010 Rav4

Description: When viewing the Freeze Frame Data for P0455 in the Engine and ECT ECU, the screen is blank and there is no information
displayed.
Status: Issue is under investigation.
Vehicle(s): 2004 Sienna

Description: When performing a Health Check, no trouble codes showed being present, but when accessing the trouble codes screen in
the Engine and ECT ECU, the vehicle had a P2241 History Code.
Status: Issue is under investigation.
Vehicle Information does not Auto-Populate
Vehicle(s): All
Device(s): Techstream Lite (Mongoose VIM)
Description: When using the Mongoose VIM, an error will result if the power door lock switch (lock or unlock) is operated while
communicating with the vehicle. After this error occurs, communication cannot be established with any of the ECU's on the vehicle.
Status: Issue is under investigation. In order to re-establish communication to the vehicle, the software must be rebooted and the
Mongoose USB connection must be removed and reconnected.
Pre-Customized Data List Shuts Down Techstream Application
Vehicle(s): 2007 ES350
Device(s): Techstream and Techstream Lite (Mongoose VIM)
Description: The Techstream Application shut down unexpectedly when the Pre-Customized Data List in the Intuitive P/A ECU is changed
from the default selection.
Status: Currently looking for additional information. If encountered, please send in an Error Report using the "F12" function on the
Techstream keyboard.

Description: Immediately after accessing any Data List or Active Test function, an error window will display and the Data List or Active
Test will not be accessible.
Status: This error is found to be isolated to a small number of units using the eTRUST brand Anti-Virus Software. Users have reported that
error symptoms disappeared after removing the eTRUST Anti-Virus Software.
Note: Users with McAfee and Norton Anti-Virus Software installed on Techstream have reported to not be experiencing this error screen.

type of FFD is saved.
Confusing Door Courtesy Light Values
Vehicle: 2008-2011 Sienna

Description: Parameters “FR and FL Door Courtesy” in the Main Body ECU Datalist will display an “ON” value when those doors are
closed. Siennas with a L/O date of November 2011 (2012MY) and forward will display values logically; consistent with the rear doors.
Fatal Errors with Tire Pressure Monitor System
Vehicle: 2010 Prius

Description: Due to an ECU bug, inapplicable Active Tests may display. Furthermore, the Drive Leveling Motor Active Tests may fail to
execute, resulting in an error.
EVAP System Check Failure
Vehicle: 2006 LS430
Device(s): Techstream and Techstream Lite (Mongoose VIM)
Description: Attempting to perform EVAP System Check will result in error screen and the function will be inoperable. Please refer to the
repair manual for instructions on manually inspecting the Evap System.
Single and Multi Freeze Frame Data Display is Erratic
Vehicle(s): All
Device(s): Techstream and Techstream Lite (Mongoose VIM)
Description: Given the same DTC and same year/make/model vehicle, FFD display can be very erratic, sometimes displayed as Single
Frame and sometimes as Multi Frame.
Status: Under investigation. If you encounter this issue, please press the F12 key to create an Error Report.
Health Check DTC Clear All Failure
Vehicle: 2009-2010 Corolla, xD
Device(s): Techstream and Techstream Lite (Mongoose VIM)
Description: When using the Clear All DTC function from the Health Check Screen, with IG ON and engine not running, the progress
indicator will loop continuously until the DTCs clear (after 5 or 6 minutes). This also occurs when clearing DTCs of the EMPS System. This
issue can be avoided by having the engine running while clearing DTCs.

Description: When performing an Immobilizer or Smart Key Reset, errors or abnormal operation may occur if Java software is not
installed, has become corrupt, or version is too old. Installing the latest version of Java (v1.6 - Update 7, minimum) from
http://www.java.com will resolve this issue.

Description: Certain laptops with HDD vibration protection software experience intermittent communication loss when the laptop is
jerked or moved, which forces the user to restart Techstream.
Status: Issue is under investigation.
Work Around: Though each PC is different, at your own risk, the HDD vibration protection software may be adjusted to be less sensitive,
which may increase the risk of HDD damage during abrupt movement or if the PC is dropped.
Unable to Register Transponder Key
Vehicle(s): 1998 GS400
Device(s): Techstream and Techstream Lite (Mongoose and/or Mongoose Pro VIMs)
Description: Consistent loss of communication when attempting to register key with Transponder Code Registration Utility.
Status: Fixed in V8.3.
Create TAS Case Bug on TIS
Vehicle(s): All newer vehicles that automatically display the odometer reading on Techstream
Device(s): Techstream and Techstream Lite (Mongoose and/or Mongoose Pro VIMs)
Description: TIS web service “Create TAS Case” is passing the odometer unit (mile or km, depending on user setting), which is an invalid
entry in the odometer field.
Work Around: Manually delete the odometer unit (mile or km) in the field to progress to the next screen.
Status: Under investigation.

Varios fabricantes de herramienta de diagnóstico han agregado recientemente las funciones ISO 22900 PDU
API (Interfaz de programación de aplicación de unidad de datos de protocolo 22900 de la Organización
Internacional para Normalización) y software/hardware a sus herramientas de diagnóstico SAE J2534. Estas
compañías pueden indicar que el nuevo software/hardware permite que sus dispositivos J2534 usen Tech2Win,
la versión de la aplicación basada en PC de Tech 2 y el módulo CANdi (interfaz de diagnóstico de red de área

ACDelco no proporciona soporte técnico para estas herramientas. ACDelco ofrece soporte para la herramienta
