SOFTWARE

Software is a set of instructions, data or program used to operate computers and execute
specific tasks.

Software is often divided into application software, or user downloaded programs that
fulfil a need, and system software, which includes operating systems and any program
that supports application software.

HARDWARE

Computer hardware is a collective term used to describe any of the physical components
of an analog or digital computer.

Computer hardware is divided into internal or external components. Internal

components include items such as the motherboard, CPU, RAM, chips, hard drive,
power supply, hard drive, network interface card, etc.

External components, also called peripheral components, are those items that are often
connected to the computer in order to control its input or output. Input components are:
mouse, keyboard, microphone, camera, scanner, USB flash driver, memory card,
touchpad. Output computer hardware components are: monitors, printers, speakers,
headphones.
