pasear!", Piensa el

Al final de cada pie,

señor Ciempiés lleva
una bota audaz,
brillante y hermosa.
¡Eso es veintiún pares
de botas para los
cuarenta y dos pies!

¡Con quién se encuentra por primera vez, pero la
mosca Dame Damsel! "¡Qué botas tan grandes
tienes!" dice ella. "Dígame, señor Ciempiés, ¿Cuál
de las patas coloca antes de cuál, cuando camina
usted?"

"Esta pata, por supuesto!", Dice el Sr. Ciempiés,

levantando la pata número dos.
"¡Espera! ¡En realidad, esta pata!" levanta la pierna
número cuatro.

“¡Qué botas tan bonitas!” dice el Gran Escarabajo. "Dígame, señor Ciempiés, ¿Cuál de
las patas coloca antes de cuál, cuando usted camina?"

"¡Qué pregunta tonta !", se molestó el Sr.
Centipede. Él sobresale la pata número tres y la
baja rápidamente.Él extiende la pata número seis
en su lugar.

“¿Qué está pasando aquí?”
pregunta la mayor hormiga.

"Shhh! El pobre señor Ciempiés está muy

Confundido", susurra la mosca Dame Damsel.
“En todo este tiempo, aunque tiene
muchas botas, no ha podido
a dar ni un solo paso ".

"¿Ah sí?", suspira el mayor hormiga.
"Dígame, señor Ciempiés, ¿Cuál de las patas coloca
usted
antes del la cuál, cuando salgas a pasear ?".

"Empiezo
simplemente con
esta..." dice el Sr.
Ciempiés, levantando
la pata número cuatro.

"¡Oh nooo! Quiero

decir ... esa. ”Levanta
la pata número ocho.
"Oh noooo! Ninguna
de ellas. quiero decir,
una de ellas.
¡Oh nooo! ¡He
olvidado lo que quiero
decir!

“¡Corre, corre rápido!” oyen una voz.
"¿Quién es?", Grita Gran Escarabajo.
"Soy palo insecto. Tú, con todas esas botas, es mejor que corras ".

"He visto un mirlo", susurra palo insecto. “Parece bastante hambriento y listo para
desayunar. No puede verme porque parezco a la corteza de árbol en la que estoy
descansando. Pero él puede verte, ¡vestido con esas grandes botas de colores
brillantes! ¡Corre rápido!
"¡HAHAHA!" El Insecto Vara se ríe. "¿Qué es tan gracioso?", Pregunta Sra. Araña, quien
pasó de visita.

“¡No había mirlo!” Dice palo insecto.
“Era solo un truco para divertirse un poco. ¡Y haz correr todas las botas!
Estarás de acuerdo, ahora que está hecho .
¡El señor Ciempiés puede correr de verdad!

¿No es gracioso que al Sr. Ciempiés le
resulte difícil dar un solo paso pero no tuvo
problemas para correr? ¡ Esto nos puede
pasar a cualquiera de nosotros! Hay cosas
que hacemos todos los días sin darnos
cuenta de , como parpadear o mover las
manos mientras hablamos.

Pero si prestamos mucha atención a la
frecuencia con la que parpadeamos o en
qué punto se mueven nuestras manos,
podamos confundirnos. Esto se llama el
dilema del ciempiés o la ley de Humphrey.
