COSTUMBRES Y HÁBITOS DEL PASADO

 Would
Utilizamos Would para expresar hábitos o rutinas en el pasado. Lo traducimos por solíay su situación en la frase es la siguiente:
Ejemplo:
In summer we would play all day in the garden when we were children.
(En el verano, solíamos jugar todo el día en el jardín cuando eramos niños).

 Used to Utilizamos Used to para:

A. Expresar hábitos o rutinas en el pasado (como would) que generalmente ya no sehacen.

SUJETO + USED TO + VERBO EN INFINITIVO + COMPLEMENTOS
SUJETO + WOULD + VERBO EN INFINITIVO + COMPLEMENTOS

Ejemplos:
I used to take the train to school every day.
(Yo cogía el tren para ir al colegio todos los días).
B. Expresar estados en el pasado. (Nótese que en este caso no es posible utilizar would).
Ejemplo:
She didn’t use to like fish before. (Antes no le gustaba el pescado).
 Be used to + -ing
Lo utilizamos para hablar de ciertas acciones a las cuales estamos acostumbrados. La construcción de la frase es la
siguiente:
Ejemplo:
I am used to getting up early. (Estoy acostumbrado a levantarme temprano).

 Get used to + -ing

Lo utilizamos para hablar de acciones a las cuales nos estamos acostumbrando. La construcciónde este tipo de frases es la s
iguiente:
Ejemplo:
I haven’t got used to getting up early.
(No me he acostumbrado a levantarme temprano).
