Una semana después, el hijo de Catalina, Juan Felipe, se
cayó de un balcón y murió. Catalina no quería que murieran
más niños en estas terribles situaciones. Su fundación
ofrece atención médica y programas de capacitación para
ayudar a las madres adolescentes y sus hijos a tener una
vida mejor.

Thulani: He lived in the slums of Kliptown, South Africa.

Pushpa: She lived in Nepal.

Catalina: She lived in the city of Cartagena, Colombia.

b. why did they decide to help people?

Thulani: He decided to help people because when left primary school, his father
told him that he didn't have enough money for his high school fees. Thulani
washed cars and carried boxes to earn his own money to pay to go to school.

Pushpa: She decided to help people because studied social work at university and
day when she visited a women's prison, she saw children living there. She was
shocked by this situation and she opened a children's day care centre.

Catalina: She Decides to help people because one day, a twelve-day-old boy died
in her arms because the baby's teenage mother didn't have money for the
treatment to save him. And a week later, Catalina's baby son Juan Felipe fell from
a balcony and died. So, Catalina didn't want any more children to die in these
terrible situations.

c. How do they help people?

Thulani: He help people with the Kliptown Youth Program helps other young
people in Kliptown to get an education and improve their lives. It gives them
uniforms, books and money for their school fees.

Pushpa: She help people with care centre for children who are growing up in
prison and with a residential home for older children who have the opportunity to
go to school and get food and medical care.
Catalina: She help people with a foundation that offers health care and training
programs to help teen mothers and their children have a better life.

then I went shopping. In the afternoon I Listened to CDs in my
bedroom. Then Jack rang me because his grandma met was in hospital.
So, I went to the party on my own. I saw Jack’s brother in the party. I was ,
