EL INTERNET EN EL PERU

Viajando por distintos lugares del Perú, específicamente en las regiones de la sierra de nuestro
país pude darme cuenta que la señal de internet era muy baja en algunas regiones y en otros
lugares simplemente no había, esas personas estaban aisladas del mundo digital lo cual era una
gran brecha digital y que las autoridades del país debían de solucionar.

La organización GSMA, Barcelona, organización que agrupa a operadores móviles realizo un

estudio de inclusión digital en América Latina y Caribe y dijo que en ocho regiones del Perú entre
el 75% y 90% no tienen acceso a internet.

El representante de la organización GMS Sebastián Cabello dijo que la banda ancha móvil es el
método principal para brindar acceso adecuado al Internet en esas regiones.

Sin embargo, pregunte a uno de los pobladores de Ayacucho de la parte alta y ellos me dijeron que
la mayoría del pueblo no tenían acceso a internet y que su único medio de comunicación era la
radio.

También le pregunte al hombre de Ayacucho si había señal en los celulares para llamar y él me dijo
que no que si querían llamar a un familiar tenían que bajar a la ciudad central de Ayacucho.

El hombre de Ayacucho menciono, que el gobierno había prometido instalar antenas de

comunicación digital para poder usar el internet y así poder romper la brecha digital que existe.
The Internet and low signal in regions of Peru.

Traveling to different parts of Peru, specifically in the higher parts of regions of our country such as
Amazonas, Apurimac and Ayacucho, I realized that the Internet signal was very low in some regions
and in other places there simply was not internet.

These people were isolated from the digital world, which was a great digital divide and that the
authorities of the country had to solve.

GSMA, Barcelona, an organization that groups mobile operators, conducted a study of digital inclusion
in Latin America and the Caribbean and said that in eight regions of Peru between 75% and 90% do
not have Internet access.

GMSA representative Sebastian Cabello said mobile broadband is the main method to provide
adequate Internet access in those regions. However, I asked one of the upper Ayacucho residents and
they told me that most of the town did not have access to the Internet and that their only means of
communication was radio.

I also asked the man from Ayacucho whether there was a signal on the cell phones to call and he told
me that whether they wanted to call a relative they had to go down to the central city of Ayacucho.

The man from Ayacucho mentioned that the government had promised to install digital
communication antennas in order to use the Internet to break the existing digital divide.
