Let’s celebrate

The end of the year celebration takes place in all the cities of Ecuador.

Mainly with the tradition of burning the old year or monigote, a fact that represents

leaving behind the negative experiences of last year, and welcoming a new one, hoping

that it is better than the previous one.

The Old Year. It is a puppet that represents the year that ends, made with old clothes,

cardboard or paper, stuffed with straw or sawdust and often with pyrotechnic devices, to

be burned at midnight on December 31.

The Widow is a man dressed in women's clothing, asking for financial help to burn the

old man.

My favorite holiday

In my house in the old year the whole family meets to celebrate these holidays, a few

days before with my nephews and my cousins we build the little monkey who

represents these holidays which is armed with old clothes and recycled paper and

pyrotechnic artifacts.

During the course of the last day of the year in my family we played cards and

volleyball with my cousins.

After playing we met for lunch, then we went out with the family to see the widows.

Already at night we gather around a campfire to talk and by means of midnight, he

prepares the little monkey to burn him and with that give the welcome to the new year.
La celebración de fin de año se la realiza en todas las ciudades del Ecuador.

principalmente con la tradición de quemar el año viejo o monigote, hecho que representa
dejar atrás las experiencias negativas del año pasado, y dar la bienvenida a uno nuevo, con la
esperanza de que sea mejor que el anterior.

El Año Viejo. Es un monigote que representa el año que termina, elaborado con ropa vieja,
cartón o papel, relleno de paja o aserrín y con frecuencia con artefactos pirotécnicos, para ser
quemado a la media noche del 31 de diciembre.

La Viuda es un hombre vestido con ropa de mujer, que solicita ayuda económica para quemar
al viejo.

Mis vacaciones favoritas

en mi casa en ano viejo se reúne toda la familia para celebrar estas fiestas, unos días antes con
mis sobrinos y mis primos construimos el monigote que representa estas fiestas la cual se lo
arma con ropa vieja y papel reciclado y con artefactos pirotécnicos.

durante el trascurso del ultimo día del ano en mi familia jugamos cartas and voleibol con mis
primos.

después de jugar nos reunimos para almorzar, después salimos en familia a ver a las viudas.

ya en la noche nos reunimos alrededor de una fogata a conversar y mediante se acerca media
noche se prepara al monigote para quemarlo y con ello dar la bienvenida al nuevo año.
