Unicentro Cúcuta
About 25 years ago the former Mayor of Cúcuta Enrique Cuadros (architect by
profession), acquired a huge piece of land to build an urbanization, but this could not
be carried out for economic reasons.
In 2005, the arrival of the Free Trade Agreement that brought great things for Cúcuta
was approaching, because the Venezuelan businessmen were building their
industries in the city to be able to export to the United States for tax exemption. This
phenomenon generated thousands of jobs.
Due to the above, important companies of national importance, such as Pedro
Gómez and Cia., Turned their gaze towards the northern capital of the country and
thus decided to build a shopping center. A Jairo Rincon was commissioned to select
the land on which it would be built so it communicated with elex-Governor of Norte
de Santander Sergio Entrena to accompany him.
From the moment they both arrived in the city they knew that the lot that belonged
to the ex-Mayor of Cúcuta Enrique Cuadros was the right one, however they visited
others located on the road to Pamplona, on the road to the Venezuelan municipality
of San Antonio del Táchira, among others. Later the two businessmen went to
Bogota with the desire to negotiate with the former Mayor of Cúcuta, and as reported
by Jairo Rincon on the day of his inauguration of the shopping center "the negotiation
was made in half an hour".
The structure of the work began to be built at the end of April 2006. At the beginning
of the work the former Mayor of the city Ramiro Suárez Corzo made a presence in
the work to intimidate the builders for the use of the area of public cession as
temporary work camps causing anxiety in the professional managerial staff.
The huge shopping center was inaugurated on May 4, 2007 with the presence of
those who at that time were the Mayor of Cúcuta Ramiro Suárez Corzo, the Governor
of Norte de Santander Luis Miguel Morelli Navia, the Bishop of Cúcuta Oscar Urbina,
the directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Cúcuta, the governor of the Táchira
State (Venezuela), important merchants of the city who believed in the project and
various means of communication.

The ISO 26000: 2010 standard has as a priority objective to help organizations to be
oriented towards Sustainable Development criteria beyond the mandatory legal
compliance related to their activities and business operations. The first question that
arises about the possibility of adopting the guide is usually: What contributes to my
company or organization? , and certainly, the evidences that are usually sought are
not easy to show, at least, in excel support as it is of the generalized liking in the
economic sector
