Abstract
Throughout the history of the debate regarding women’s participation in the labor market, va-
rious critical authors and the "feminist economics" have fallen in the conceptualization of the
"sphere of production" and the "sphere of reproduction" as two autonomous and independent
moments. In this paper we make a brief reading of its nodal points, and propose a compre-
hensive theory based on the ideas presented in Marx’s Capital to the light of the changes in the
global organization of production that have been taking place from the mid seventies.
