Es considerada a menudo como una de las ciudades más bellas de la Tierra, por su paisaje
romántico que la convierte en un patio de recreo para los amantes, por el hito histórico de
recorrer a crucero sus rutas con un hombre que impulsa una góndola.
Al norte de Italia, en la costa del mar Adriático, se encuentra una de las ciudades más
peculiares, y atractivas de nuestro planeta. Tal ciudad es Venecia, referida por muchos como
“La Reina del Adriático” y por otros como “La Serenissima”. Mas sin embargo, todos los
que la han visitado concuerdan que sólo se puede describir con una sola palabra: Venecia.
Lo que siempre ha llamado la atención de Venecia, aparte de sus hermosos palacios y
refinado arte, es que no tienen calles. Sí, la ciudad fue diseñada para transitar en botes y no
carruajes. El diseño de la ciudad es dominado por un ancho canal llamado Canal Grande.
Este canal, que tiene la forma de una S invertida, separa los dos núcleos urbanos mayores.
Sí montamos las góndolas dirigidas por los gondoleros con sus largos remos. Siendo muy
cierto que esta era la forma elegante, una carroza, de trasladarse las personas pudientes por
los canales. Hoy en día las emplean sólo para complacer a los románticos turistas como
nosotros. Una vez ya complacida la novedad, son los taxis lanchas los que se encargan de
transportarle cuando ya no desee caminar más.
Muchos de los palacios y catedrales de Venecia son de la era del renacimiento. Santa Maria
della Salute, próxima al Canal Grande, fue construida en el siglo XVII. Así son muchos los
edificios, obras maestras únicas de nuestra civilización..
Si las iglesias y palacios son bellezas en su exterior, la majestuosidad y esplendor en su
interior son algo que le va a tomar un buen rato adaptarse antes de poder empezar admirarlos.
Generalmente, el mes más cálido es julio y el mes más frío es enero. La precipitación media
máxima se produce en noviembre. La temporada de acqua alta, aguas altas, son generalmente
de noviembre a febrero. Durante la temporada alta, la ciudad puede ser parcialmente
inundada por un par de horas en ciertos días.
Clima de Venecia
Venecia tiene un clima mediterráneo, con inviernos suaves y veranos calurosos.
Generalmente el tiempo es cálido de mayo a septiembre, con bastante calor durante julio y
agosto. Las lluvias son bastante frecuentes en otoño. Las temperaturas medias en invierno
van de los 5º a 15º C y en verano de los 25º a los 35º C
Gastronomía de Venecia
Se sabe que la cocina italiana está inmersa dentro de las variedades mediterráneas, además
de ser imitada y practicada en el mundo entero. La gastronomía italiana no es más que el
reflejo diverso de su cultura, cultura que a lo largo de los años se hace cada vez más
interesante y de gran importancia.
Las cafeterías y las heladerías son muy típicas. Es posible detenerse a tomar un helado o un
café –ambos deliciosos- en cualquier punto de la ciudad.
