INSTRUCTOR: In this lesson we will learn indirect commands. Indirect commands are
commands that are given by a third party. Indirect commands are used when you want to say
have someone do something or let someone do something. We will learn how to form
indirect commands by using que and the subjunctive form of the verb.

INSTRUCTOR: Recuerdas cmo se dice el verbo to enter.

Diana: Entrar. Entrar.

INSTRUCTOR: As se dice let him enter or have him enter as in let him enter the building

or have him enter the building. Escucha y repite.

Juan: Que entre l. Entre. Que entre.

INSTRUCTOR: Otra vez, cmo se dice let him enter

Diana: Que entre.

INSTRUCTOR: As se dice let THEM enter. Escucha y repite.

Juan: Que entren ellos. Entren. Que entren.

INSTRUCTOR: Notice that you can give the command with or without the pronoun. In other

words, you can say Que entren ellos or Que entren. Otra vez, cmo se dice let them enter

Diana: Que entren.

INSTRUCTOR: Recuerdas cmo se dice building?

Juan: Edificio. Edificio.

INSTRUCTOR: cmo se dice let them enter the building?

INSTRUCTOR: Besides the Spanish verb entrar, you can also use the Spanish verb pasar
for the English verb to enter or to come in. Usando el verbo pasar trata de decir let him
enter or have him enter.

Juan: Que pase l. Pase. Que pase.

INSTRUCTOR: Otra vez, cmo se dice let him come in

Diana: Que pase. Que pase.

INSTRUCTOR: Usando el verb pasar cmo se dice let THEM come in

INSTRUCTOR: Besides the Spanish verbs entrar and pasar you can also give this same
command using the Spanish verb seguir which means to continue. Usando el verbo seguir
trata de decir let him continue.

verb sostener. But in this lesson, we will not use the verb sostener. Instead, we will use the
