 EJEMPLOS DEL IMPERATIVO EN INGLÉS

• El imperativo es una orden de hacer algo: Haz eso,

• Aquí tienes unos ejemplos del imperativo en inglés – fíjate que el sujeto no aparece, porque
el sujeto siempre es “you”.  no hagas aquello

• Listen to me. = Escúchame.

• Do your homework. = Haz tus deberes.
• Eat your spinach. = Come tus espinacas.
• Go away. = Vete.
• Go to sleep. = Duérmete
• Go away. = Vete.
• Go to sleep. = Duérmete
• Be quiet. = Estate tranquilo.
• Turn off the TV. = Apaga la televisión.
• Lock the door. = Cierra la puerta (con llave)
• Think about it. = Piénsalo.
• Insert your card. = Introduzca su tarjeta.
• Show me how to do it. = Enséñame cómo hacerlo.
• Look out! = ¡Cuidado!

 CÓMO USAR EL IMPERATIVO NEGATIVO EN
INGLÉS

• Pones un don’t al principio de la frase (antes del verbo en infinitivo) y ya está. Siendo
imperativo, la persona se sobreentiende, y no hace falta poner el pronombre you.
• Además, el imperativo negativo se usa para singular y plural, porque no se diferencia
entre you de “tú” y you de “vosotros / ustedes” en inglés.

• Don’t call me late at night. 
• Don’t push that button.
• Don’t eat that sandwich. 
• Don’t tell Mom what happened.
• Don’t walk on the grass.
