Seleccione un personaje icónico y con trayectoria importante en el mundo, de
acuerdo con su perfil profesional (Ej: En moda, un personaje icónico es Agatha
Ruiz), y busque en Internet información acerca de él (ella). A partir del personaje
seleccionado, realice una crónica escrita con los hechos más importantes y las
situaciones más relevantes en la trayectoria profesional del personaje.
Pero lo que la hizo famosa fue su serie de libros infantiles con ilustraciones hechas
en Photoshop, como Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History, Little Dreamers:
Visionary Women Around the World y Little Legends: Exceptional Men in Black
History. En estos libros, Vashti Harrison retrata a personas que han cambiado el
mundo con sus sueños y sus acciones, desde científicas, artistas, activistas,
deportistas y más. Sus ilustraciones se caracterizan por tener un estilo simple,
colorido y expresivo, que busca inspirar a los niños a soñar en grande y a conocer
la historia de personas que han cambiado el mundo.
Vashti Harrison es una artista multifacética que ha sabido usar Photoshop como
una herramienta para crear obras de arte que combinan la imagen y la palabra. Su

Actualmente vive en Brooklyn, Nueva York, donde sigue escribiendo e ilustrando
libros para niños.
Vashti Harrison was born in 1988 in Virginia, United States, the daughter of an
African-American father and an Indian mother from Trinidad and Tobago. Since she
was little she liked to draw, read and watch movies. He studied Media and Art at
the University of Virginia, and then specialized in Film and Video at the California
Institute of the Arts. There he learned to use Photoshop to create digital
illustrations.
In 2014, she moved to Trinidad and Tobago, her mother's home country, where she
was inspired by Caribbean culture and folklore to make her own experimental short
films. Some of them are Field Notes, Sixteen and Forged from the Love of Liberty,
which have been screened and awarded at international film festivals. She also
worked as a character designer on Hair Love, an animated short that won the
Oscar for best animated short film in 2020.
But what made her famous was her series of children's books with Photoshop
illustrations, such as Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History, Little Dreamers:
Visionary Women Around the World, and Little Legends: Exceptional Men in Black
History. In these books, Vashti Harrison profiles people who have changed the
world with their dreams and actions, from scientists, artists, activists, athletes and
more. His illustrations are characterized by having a simple, colorful and
expressive style, which seeks to inspire children to dream big and learn about the
history of people who have changed the world.
Vashti Harrison is a multifaceted artist who has known how to use Photoshop as a
tool to create works of art that combine image and word. His work reflects his
identity, his heritage and his passion for telling stories. He currently lives in
Brooklyn, New York, where he continues to write and illustrate children's books.
