Cargill de Venezuela cuenta con una gran cantidad de activos que le permite desarrollar
su actividad económica, a continuación, se destacan los de mayor importancia:
Planta Catia La Mar Planta ubicada en Catia La Mar, Estado Vargas, dedicada a la
recepción, procesamiento de trigo, elaboración de pasta en sus presentaciones, corta y
larga, está planta está integrada por 6 lotes de terreno que totalizan un área de 40.182
mts2, posee un área de construcción de aproximadamente 24.010,30 mts2.
Problema
• La marca de mayor calidad que produce la empresa se produce con trigo Durum.
• La planta cuenta con 2 líneas de producción operativas: o 1650 kilos/hora. o 1850 kilos
/hora
During the visit to the Cargill plant in Catia La Mar, one of the problems raised by the
pastry manager was related to the loss of plastic in the packaging process.
The packaging machine is in charge of cutting the plastic for the packaging of the pasta,
then the subsequent storage and distribution.
However, the machine was not adjusted to the production process, which reduced
efficiency and produced considerable losses of raw material. ´

Founded in 1865, it has grown to be the largest privately held corporation in the United
States (in terms of earnings).1 Its business activities include the purchase, sale,
processing, and distribution of grain and other agricultural commodities, the cultivation
and sale of livestock feed, and the sale of ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry.
Cargill de Venezuela has a large number of assets that allow it to develop its economic
activity. The most important ones are highlighted below:
Catia La Mar Plant Plant located in Catia La Mar, Vargas State, dedicated to the
reception, processing of wheat, preparation of pasta in its short and long presentations.
This plant is made up of 6 lots of land that total an area of 40,182 m2 , has a
construction area of approximately 24,010.30 m2.
Problem
• The raw material is imported from Mexico, Canada or the United States.
• The plant produces pasta of different brands, which are distinguished by the quality of
the wheat.
• The highest quality brand produced by the company is produced with Durum wheat.
• In each production line they have 3 human resources. They are distributed as follows:
Operator or Assistant or Supervisor
• The plant has 2 operational production lines: o 1650 kilos/hour. or 1850 kilos / hour
• The line has 3 packaging machines, which carry out the automatic packaging process.
• The palletizing process is done manually. • The packaging machines have a metal
detection system, certified by SENCAMER.
