CFP “Seminar on Gender Studies.

International Women’s Day 2023”

Seminar date: 7th March 2023. 10-2pm. Face to face at Facultad de Filología (Universidad Complutense de
Madrid) and online (in streaming).
Send a title and 250-300 word abstract in English or Spanish to mpzalbid@ucm.es or rebcampo@ucm.es
Deadline for submissions: February 26th 2023
Certificates will be given for conference speakers and attendees.
After the seminar, selected papers will be published in an indexed journal.
Organized by English Studies Department (Facultad de Filología, UCM)

This year the campaign theme of the International Women’s Day 2023 is “Embrace Equity” and for that
reason we are going to embrace each other on March 8th and share our research, experiences and
thoughts related to gender in different artistic disciplines: literature for gender equality, gender issues,
feminist mythology, goddesses, women writers, women in world literature, LGBTQ+ literature, queer and
female characters or representations in literature and arts, etc.

We invite proposals for panels and individual 20-minute papers in English or Spanish. Possible topics or critical
intersections for papers and panels include (but are not limited to):

Gender Studies in literature/myths/cinema/comics/art Ecofeminism. Animal Studies.


Goddess Mythology Feminist Eco criticism.
Eco myth criticism Feminist Revisionist Mythology.
Feminist (re)writing of myths, fairy tales and legends Queer and Feminist Studies.
Cyberfeminism. Gender Studies in Electronic Literature and New Media Art
