TÍTULO DEL TRABAJO Wuthering Heights (1847) and The Foundling (1808): An Intertextual Analysis

The aim of this project is to carry out an intertextual analysis between Heinrich
von Kleist’s novella, “The Foundling”, and Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights. Thus, I will
analyze the characters of Nicolo and Heathcliff as two foundlings who represent colonial
otherness in the novel. Besides, both characters are disruptive forces who have learned to
MEMORIA subvert the law of property and legal inheritance and have ironically legitimated usurpation.
(Máximo 200 palabras) To conclude, also there is no evidence that Emily Brontë read Kleist’s Novellen, there is an
undeniable thematic connection between Kleist’s “The Foundling” and Wuthering Heights
which should be examined further.
