Carmen: Sí.
Querido diario,
Mark: María begins by saying:
Ayer fue un viernes muy emocionante. Estaba
nerviosa cuando fui a recoger a Rory al

aeropuerto. Muy nerviosa. Tan nerviosa que,
como no había sitio para aparcar, dejé el
coche en doble fila. Fui corriendo a buscarle
hecha un manojo de nervios, le vi, tan guapo
como siempre, y nos fundimos en un abrazo
largo… demasiado largo. Cuando volvimos al
coche, tenía una multa de aparcamiento. ¡Qué
desastre!

in Spain and not in Latin America where buscar
would be more appropriate.
Carmen: Exactly, yeah.

Mark: “What a disaster!” Yeah, poor María! She was so
excited to see Rory that she ended up getting

Mark: Very very very delicious.
María
Carmen: Exacto.
Mark: But here, it’s waiting for us, el verano que nos
espera. Or indeed it awaits us. ¡Qué
romántico! How romantic! And she finishes off
her diary entry with ¡un beso y hasta pronto!
Literally, “a kiss and until soon”.
Carmen: Sí.
