Este equipo se conoce con el nombre de ARPA, que proviene de los términos

ingleses: AUTOMATIC RADAR PLOTING AID.

El ARPA es, entonces, un calculador adjunto al radar, que procesa la información

que entrega el radar y resuelve automáticamente el problema cinemático, de manera

de entregar gráficamente, la siguiente información:

• Demarcación del contacto.

• Distancia al contacto.

• Rumbo del contacto.

• Velocidad del contacto
