ACHIQUE

On the outskirts of a small town lived a sick widow who, when she died, left her orphaned daughter
without a roof or bread.
En las afueras de un pequeño pueblo vivía una viuda enferma que al morir dejó a su hija huérfana sin techo ni pan.

The girl saw a sparrow fly with a potato flower in its beak.
La niña vio volar un gorrión con una flor de patata en el pico.

Kiara: THE POTATOES

Kiara: Las papas

Achique a very mean raggedy old woman who decided to chase the girl to kill her
La Achique una vieja andrajosa muy mala que decidió seguir a la niña y matarla.

WITCH: I'm going to follow her

LA BRUJA: Voy a seguirla.

She took the girl into her house with tricks.

La atrajo con engaños a su choza

WITCH: Do you want spend to eat?

BRUJA: ¿Quieres pasar a comer?

The girl agrees and soon realized the trap, and ran
La niña acepta y pronto se dio cuenta de la trampa, agarró su bulto y corrió

And the witch after her

Y la bruja tras de ella

The girl asked Mr. Condor for help

La niña pidió ayuda al señor Condor

Kiara: UNCLE CONDOR HIDE ME UNDER YOUR WINGS.

Kiara: TIO CONDOR ESCONDEME BAJO TUS ALAS.

Condor: I'll help you girl hide behind me

Condor: te ayudare niña escóndete detrás de mi

Witch: Condor, haven't you seen a girl pass by?

Bruja: Condor ¿No haz visto pasar una niña ?

The girl ran away without first thanking the condor

La niña salió corriendo sin antes agradecer al cóndor

Kiara: you will have good eyesight and you will never lack food
Kiara: tendrás buena vista y nunca te faltará alimento
Hipólito: That's why the condor has a penetrating gaze that easily discovers its prey from a great
height.
Hipólito: Por eso el cóndor tiene una mirada penetrante que descubre fácilmente a su presa desde gran altura.

The Achique was going to reach them again

La Achique iba a alcanzarlos nuevamente

Kiara: Uncle cougar help me

Kiara: Tio puma ayudame

Puma: With these claws I will win the witch

Puma: Con estas garras ganaré a la bruja

Hipólito: the girl thanked him, giving him the blessing of being the bravest animal.
Hipólito: la niña le agradeció dándole la bendición de ser el animal más bravo .

He kept escaping and met the skunk.

Ella siguió escapando y se encontró con el zorrillo

Kiara: Uncle skunk help me

Kiara: Tío zorrillo ayúdame

Skunk: I won't help you.

Zorrillo: No te ayudaré

Hipólito: The angry girl told him that because of that it would have a disgusting smell and that the
hunters would easily discover it
Hipólito: La niña enojada le dijo que por eso tendría un olor repugnante y que los cazadores lo descubrirían fácilmente

The girl managed to reach a pampa with nowhere to hide

La niña logró llegar a una pampa sin donde esconderse

Kiara: Uncle lamb help me

Kiara: Tío corderito ayúdame

Lamb: I will throw you a rope

Cordero: te lanzaré una soga

Hipólito: the achique reached to see the girl, and asked for help
Hipólito: La achique alcanzo a ver a la niña y pidió ayuda

Witch: Lamb help me go up

Bruja: Cordero ayúdame a subir

The little lamb uncle allowed him to climb, but with a little mouse in the rope
El tío corderito le permitió subir, pero con un pericote en la soga

Witch: Go away ugly animal

Bruja: Vete feo animal.

Mouse: Witch let me eat.

Raton: Bruja déjame comer.

Hipólito: Achique when he saw that it was going to fall on a rock, he cursed.
Hipólito: La achique al ver que iba a caer sobre una roca maldijo.

Witch: May my body be scattered, may my bones be embedded in the earth, and may my blood dry
the plants and herbs.
Bruja: Que mi cuerpo se desparrame, que mis huesos se incrustan en la tierra y que mi sangre seque las plantas y las
hierbas.

Hipólito: That was the origin of the Cordillera de los Andes, that's why it has rocks with horrendous
faces and when someone screams, the echo of the voice of the witch returns.
Hipólito: Ese fue el origen de la Cordillera de los Andes por eso tiene rocas con caras horrendas y cuando uno grita le
devuelve el eco de la voz de la bruja.

Indira: Like this legend that my theater companions have presented, there are many more from the
province of Aija, that we ourselves can investigate and even participate in some of its
representations, we must globalize and spread the different cultures because they are part of our great
Peru.
Reflexión: Como esta leyenda que han presentado mis compañeros en teatro hay muchas más de la provincia de Aija,
que nosotros mismos podemos investigar e incluso participar en una de sus representaciones, hay que globalizar y
difundir las diferentes culturas porque son parte de nuestro gran Perú.
