En Venezuela, se puede ubicar los inicios de la Contaduría Pública en la década
de los años 40 con el Instituto de Administración Comercial y de Hacienda y luego
la Creación del Departamento de Administración anexo a la facultad de Ciencias y
Económicas y Sociales de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, en Noviembre de
1946. En 1949, se efectúan las Primeras Conferencias Interamericanas de
Contabilidad, Dirigidas por la AIC. (Asociación Interamericana de Contabilidad).

Debido a estos antecedentes surge por consiguiente la necesidad de establecer

en el Estado Zulia una Institución que respaldarse a la gran cantidad de egresados
de ésta Región. Es a finales de los años 60 y comienzo de los 70 cuando un grupo
de Licenciados en ésta mención, iniciaron la lucha de formalización del mismo.
Pero el día 13 de septiembre de 1973 queda legalmente constituido el Colegio de
Contadores Público del Estado Zulia; quedando establecido como una corporación
gremial con presencia jurídica y patrimonio propio de carácter civil, sin fines de
lucro y con todos los derechos, obligaciones y atribuciones que le señale la Ley, la
cual obliga a los egresados a velar por el estricto cumplimiento de los Principios de
la Contaduría y de la ética en el ejercicio de la profesión.

In Venezuela, the beginnings of Public Accounting can be traced back to the

established as a guild corporation with legal presence and its own assets of civil
character, non-profit and with all the rights, obligations and powers indicated by
law, which requires graduates to ensure strict compliance with the Principles of
Accounting and ethics in the exercise of the profession.
