1. ¿Cómo se determina la tasa representativa del mercado (TRM) en
Colombia?
La tasa de cambio representativa del mercado (TRM) es la cantidad de pesos
colombianos por un dólar de los Estados Unidos. La TRM se calcula con base en las
operaciones de compra y venta de divisas entre intermediarios financieros que transan
en el mercado cambiario colombiano, con cumplimiento el mismo día cuando se realiza
la negociación de las divisas.

2. ¿cuál es el impacto financiero para las organizaciones que deben

hacer las conversiones de sus estados financieros a otras monedas?
Para tratar el tema de conversión de estados financieros, es necesario decir que se aplica
cuando se tienen negocios en el extranjero con un alto nivel de participación de tal
manera que exista un control sobre esa entidad que amerite la consolidación de estados
financieros de acuerdo con las normas de contabilidad de general aceptación del país
donde funcione la matriz o internacional, según las circunstancias, y, por tanto, hacer la
correspondiente conversión respectiva a moneda nacional.

1. FUNTIONAL CURRENCY: A functional currency is the main currency that a company

conducts its business. As companies transact in many currencies but report their financial
statements in one currency, the foreign currencies have to be translated into the
functional currency.

2. FOREIGN CURRENCY: Foreign currency is all that currency of non-current use at the
national level. Depending on the geographic location of the company, it will have one
functional currency or another.
3. CONTROLLER: El controller financiero es el profesional responsable del control financiero
de la empresa, por lo que su posición en la compañía está ligada al control y supervisión,
haciendo de puente entre la gestión y la contabilidad.
4. LOCAL CURRENCY: It refers to the currency of the company in which the financial
statements of a company are kept. The local currency is usually the legal tender of the
country in which the finance company is located.

5. SUBSIDIARY: Rate or ratio of proportion that exists between the value of one currency
with respect to another.

6. CONVERSION: The concept of "conversion" implies transforming, re-expressing or

transferring the financial statements originally prepared in one currency "A" into another
currency "B".

7. CONSOLIDATION: The accounting consolidation carried out by the CGN is an extra-

accounting disclosure process that, based on the individual accounting information
(Balances and movements, Reciprocal Transactions and Equity Participation) reported and
recorded by public accounting entities.

8. MONETARY ITEMS: Monetary items are monetary units held in cash, as well as assets and
liabilities to be received or paid, through a fixed or determinable number of monetary
units.

9. FOREIGN EXCHANGE: It is a service offered by financial entities or money changers,

buying foreign currency in exchange for the national or vice versa.

10. EXCHANGE RATE: The exchange rate or exchange rate is the relationship between the
value of one currency and another, that is, it tells us how many coins of one currency are
needed to obtain one unit of another.
