Descripción de Durante la etapa de definición de la estructura tecnológica del sistema de
la evidencia información que se encuentra desarrollando como parte de su proyecto
formativo, es probable que tenga que enfrentarse a vocabulario de una alta
naturaleza técnica relacionado con el equipamiento tecnológico que deberá
utilizar para poner en marcha dicho sistema. Normalmente, este
vocabulario se presenta en inglés debido a que las principales compañías
que manufacturan o producen dichos componentes o aquellas que han sido
pioneras en su elaboración y se localizan en países de habla inglesa, o
manejan un amplio mercado internacional mediado por el inglés como
lengua franca.

Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, es fundamental que, como futuro analista y

desarrollador de sistemas informáticos, se familiarice con el uso de

glosarios técnicos en inglés relacionados con temáticas técnicas de su
campo de trabajo, ya que esto le permitirá manejar un vocabulario mucho
más amplio y especializado, facilitando así la interpretación y correcta
comprensión de textos y documentos propios de su área.

Technical glossary in English for the occupational area

1. Architecture: Is the way that the software and hardware are structured.

2. Back end: logical area of every web page. The internal architecture of the site that

ensures that all elements perform the correct function. It is not visible to the user and

does not include any type of graphic element.

3. Bps: bits per second.

4. Database: is an organized collection of information or structured data.

5. Encrypt: Mix the data to protect it as a security measure, that is, convert plaintext to

ciphertext, which is unintelligible until decrypted.

6. Firewall: Security devices to unauthorized entries.

7. Front end: it is the layer above the Back-end as it comprises of dropdown menus,

images, icons, colors, widgets, animations and without a doubt it enhances the front-end

or front-end browsing experience.

8. HTML: (Hypertext Markup Language): Language used to create Web pages.

9. HTTP: Hypertext Transfer Protocol or graphical environment of Web pages.

10. Interface: A connection, physical or logical, between a computer and the user, a

peripheral device, or a communications link. Connection or common border between two

independent devices or systems.

11. Java: Programming language created by Sun Microsystem to provide more speed and

ease of use to the Internet, it is independent of the platform used and is available for any

WWW browser that supports this language.

12. Key: One or more characters, usually within a set of data, that contains information

about the set, including its identification.

13. Mockup: is the representation of the prototype of the project to be carried out

14. Node: A junction or connection point in a network, e.g. a terminal or a computer.

15. Search: Internet server that organizes the files by thematic groups and that allows the

location of Web pages by means of keywords that the user introduces, without the need to

know the addresses of the aforementioned pages.

16. Server: A high speed computer in a network that is shared by multiple users. It holds the

programs and data that are shared by all users.

17. Terminal: A device, usually equipped with a CRT display and keyboard, used to send

and receive information to and from a computer via a communication channel.
